@Malaise Sorry to hear that. I actually had to sell my PS5 due to low-usage (post-pandemic travel for work, back to 70% time away from home) and was devastated at the time.
I used the money to buy a Steamdeck, and this changed things up for me. Of course I was/am missing the 5* AAA graphical powerhouse games, but found it opened up a number of genres as well as playing some recent titles fairly well.
Switching of genres really got me out of a funk, and I've been playing a lot more rogue and puzzle games. I played Coccon recently and loved it, alongside a number of old-school adventure Point&Click games (like Monkey Island). I found that P&C games challenge me enough, but are also relaxing due to 'reaction time' not being critical.
That being said I am currently playing Erdtree, which is quite stressful!
But ultimately I'd say to take a break, consider 'why' you game and what you want from the hobby, then pick genres that lean into that narrative.
Wishing you well in the meantime. It is never nice when you get disillusioned and/or burnt out on something you previously enjoyed. Maybe watch some films/TV or read books, or even look at a new hobby with your partner? Gaming won't be going anywhere, and will be waiting for you once you're ready to return
@colonelkilgore they mentioned me the other day in a KCD2 comment which I try to make as often as possible, myself 😅 But now I feel completely oblivious to a totally different forum game that's afoot 😭😂

Maybe I'm just being dense or over tired, but you've gone completely over my head haha. The only thing I can glean from the phrase in a forum based setting would be a new account for an old user, beyond that, I'm totally lost as I barely take note of the goings on here, and if it's not that, then it has gone even further over my head. Was there trouble in the before-fore? Or am I just missing a basic joke because I'm stupid today, of which there is a very good chance i've just misinterpreted the phrase 😁
Bought Quantum Error. Played it for 20 minutes and uninstalled it. Luckily it only cost me about £3. It's a shame, you can tell the developers tried to make something unique. There was definitely effort put into creating the game, but it's pretty bad.
@HallowMoonshadow Yup! 45+ hours in, mostly over the course of the first two weeks before I got distracted by non-gaming responsibilities (and Plants vs Zombies, which I bought as part of a Popcap game bundle on Steam, but let's not dwell on how many hours of my life I'm dumping into that lmao). It's incredibly fun, but it's also a re-release of a game I've played to death, so I won't be no-lifing it to the credits like I did with base V.
It's a gigantic improvement on the original, though. Almost totally fixed the issues it had in terms of mechanics, pacing, character development, etc. And it runs beautifully on my Steam Deck. It's currently my pick for GOTY, although I'm also gonna start P3 Reload soon, and Metaphor is coming out in a few months, so we'll see if that holds. If it stays this good until the end, it might sneak past IV: Apocalypse as my favorite Atlus game.
So for me who hasn't played the vanilla version of SMT V... Can I go straight into the Vengeance campaign and not miss anything of importance @Ralizah or should I do the original first?
I don't think I have it in me to play both campaigns this year... Especially as the game I'll be playing after that is Baldur's Gate III and that's likely take up all my time for the rest of the year

@HallowMoonshadow Do Vengeance. There's no reason whatsoever to start with CoC. It's literally just a worse story in every way. Frankly, the only reason one should even bother with the original story is for the areas/content that aren't in Vengeance.
