Topic: 2017 Holiday Loot Thread

Gaming wise got NFS Packback and $40 of eshop credit used to buy my kids Minecraft on the switch. I also got them a second switch and an SNES classic. Lots of gaming going on for the next week or so !

Not much gaming related holiday loot. I prefer to buy my games on sale.
I just let the family get me things that I wouldn't get myself.

However, I did gift my sister Just Dance 2018 for Wii (as is tradition) and I did get a pretty cool PS jumper from by brother this year.

I got a retro New York Giants jersey, Max's tee from Life Is Strange, a book, and loads of my favourite snacks.

Was very lucky.

Got a Best Buy card that I used today to get Metroid Samus Returns. Really can't wait to dig into that game.

@Gamer83 Youll enjoy it but man its hard. If you can unlock Fusion Mode give that a go down the road...if youre brave...

As for me, well my Dad sent me a £20 note and £30 on a gift card for GAME. Since the nearest store is in Trowbridge, 12 miles away, I spent the card online and my darling mummy put £20 in my bank in exchange for the note so it all works out.

Using some wizardry and some reward points from when I bought my PS4, I got £35 PSN top up for nothing. Gift card well spent. It was going to be an eShop card but for some inexplicable reason GAME only lsited £25 eShop cards for physical delivery while other cards are email based and a wider range of values.

So I bought the 4 Jak games on PS4 why not. No Bloodborne yet @get2sammyb but one day!

I got Morphite on Switch because someone said the words "Its like Metroid Prime" and Im sold. Cant wait to dive in.

My mother got me Xenoblade Chronicles 2 and some Pokemon TCG packs because...well why not.

And my grandmother got me Mario & Luigi Superstar Saga + Bowser's Minions. It suddenly feels very SquareEnix in here...

Good game so far though! Its effectively my entry into the series apart from the bit of BIS I played.

And er...yeah think thats it really. Wont get anything for my birthday as thats within a month of Xmas but its a good haul.

Oh and the traditional Lynx Dual Pack for shower stuff. Because of course.

I have to buy one of the Metroid Amiibo's to unlock that mode or can I earn it through playing the game?

@Gamer83 It's behind the Metroid amiibo specifically. The game does include a regular (Also brutal) Hard Mode without, so all it gets you is the third difficulty option.

Ok. I usually don't play games on a higher difficulty than hard (if a higher one is offered) but I have been collecting some Amiibos since I got my Switch so I may buy the Metroid one and give Fusion mode a go.

On that note, no amiibo for Xmas.

Well I picked up Skyrim on the Switch with a $100 gift card I got for Christmas from GameStop. Tried it in the past on the 360 but didn't stick with me. Thinking that the portable factor will win me over this time.

I did very well this year! I got a couple of games, a lovely new wristwatch, some jumpers and shirts, a couple of books, and a few other bits and pieces. Lots of chocolate too, which is sort of good, because I love chocolate, and sort of bad, because I was going to try and cut down on treats next year

I got Final Fantasy XII for PS4 from my gf, also picked up Dragons Dogma and Finql Fantasy XV with games I traded in. I'm also thinking of getting some games in the ps store sale when my next pay day arrives tomorrow:) I'm thinking Stardew Valley, Papers Please and What remains of Edith finch
