Has anyone else watched this on Netflix? I've just finished watching Season 3 and it's fantastic. It captures the mood of Castlevania perfectly with excellent voice acting, animation and really good writing.

Just be warned that it is very dark with plenty of death and violence. You do occasionally get some great banter between characters which helps to balance the constant horror they have to content with.

Just to be clear, I can't stand horror films, while there is a fair amount of nightmare fuel here, I managed ok with it and I'm looking forward to season 4.

@LieutenantFatman i love the Castlevania Netflix series (although i'm a huge Castlevania fan so take that as you like) and i loved season 3, i still think season 2 was better though

i just wish they would release it on blu-ray like they did season 1, i want this on my shelf

"I pity you. You just don't get it at all...there's not a thing I don't cherish!"

"Now! This is it! Now is the time to choose! Die and be free of pain or live and fight your sorrow! Now is the time to shape your stories! Your fate is in your hands!

Yes, season 2 will be a hard one to top, but I think they did very well with the season 3 considering where they were in the story.

@LieutenantFatman Is it closer in tone and feeling to the Lords of Shadow games or the previous, original entries in the series?

Felt like a love letter to the earlier games to me, although there is considerably more dialogue. They add a lot of depth to the characters and story but they do it exceedingly well.

The story-telling is brilliant here, not to mention the smooth animation (kudos to the artists of the team). The characters and gloomy atmosphere perfectly fits the narrative, and I especially love what they do with faith / cult thing. Totally looking forward to season 4
