This seems to be bothering me in the past 10-20 mins. I mean does it look like to you that college especially community college is for everybody on a certain level?
I have the feeling if I went over there and started taking classes all hell will break loose and my poor heart can't take it. Some of the people over there are just plain mean and nasty! Of all the people in this world they are hard to make friends with. It sickens me I feel this way about colleges in general. I wish we would be more civil in these public type schools. Every person can go to college depending on the situation. I have a serious mental illness and while I take classes, especially math, I could't deal with the chaos that runs amuk. Yes there are still people who don't act like adults and they still fight like we are some high school students acting tough.
It really berates me how society has changed inculding a place that we feed on education. I've never understood it!
Not really sure what you're asking here, but I find that there are idiots in absolutely every single walk of life. It's not always easy, but the best thing that you can do is focus on yourself, and make sure that you're moving in the right direction. Don't ever let anyone stand in the way of becoming the person you want to be.

As Sammy already said: don't let others hold you down. If you want to go for college/feel that it's the right ting to do, go for it. Trust your heart and your gut feeling. It's usually right. I'm 39 and I've come to realize that those instincts are amazingly accurate most of the time. Also: most people that pick on others often do it out of insecurity towards themselves. They feel insecure and bad about themselves, thus they pick on others and belittle them to feel stronger and superior. It's a cheap concept. Once you realize that, harassing by others gets rather easy to endure, because you start to pity them, mostly.
An advice my aunt gave me years ago that also proved to be correct: Go the way of fear/of the things you're afraid of initially. Because that's the way that'll make you grow. By overcoming things that scared us (be it going to college and facing unknown persons/situations), we get stronger.
Oke, people pick on you? Advice if you want to feel more secure about yourself go to the gym and work out. It amazes me how much it helped me to be confident! As sam already said... Assholes are everywhere, not only on college but also on the workfloor.
What Skeeve said, and his aunt's advice "Go the way of fear/of the things you're afraid of initially. Because that's the way that'll make you grow." is probably the best advice for growing up, maturing and life itself I could imagine!
