Do you like to get as much information as possible on games you are planning to get, or do you like to avoid any information released so it's a surprise when you play the game?
I heavily lean on letting things remain a surprise. I will generally watch trailers and stuff released near it's announcement, but then I will stop watching or reading almost everything released about the game after that, and I do it more and more as a game gets closer to release. I think I should start watching less trailers and stuff though, the less I know the better. In fact, I'm planning to do a complete blackout on Uncharted 4, I'm planning to avert my eyes at E3 when it's (probably) shown, and all other times. I also never watch previews for next week when I watch a TV show, I actually hate them. I also think that trailers can make an change and mess up the intended experience of something by it's creator. For example: in inFamous: Second Son, when Fetch starts to appear, your not supposed to right off the bat she will be a girl, you're supposed to find that out and be surprised by it when you investigate her lair, but because of the Fetch trailer, there is no surprise, and the experience deviates from what Sucker Punch intended.
It all depends on the game for me really. If I am on the fence with it I might watch some videos and read a few reviews (Nothing major to spoil anything for me) if it's something I am highly anticipating then I do avoid stuff like LP's and reviews. I might look at review scores just out of curiosity but I just look at the scores. I will watch trailers though to get me even more pumped up for the game. They usually don't spoil anything for me.

It's a tough one, but as someone who writes about games, I don't have much of a choice but to watch everything!
That said, I think I'd probably still watch trailers anyway. Say you're really looking forward to a game, but it's weeks or even months away. If you watch a trailer, it can sometimes scratch that itch, or it can make you even more hyped.
Of course, getting over-hyped is never a good thing, so just remember to keep your expectations in check!
It depends for me as well, for multiplayer games I generally prefer more info as for those my investment is more crucial as I plan on continuously revisting it whereas for single player games, even if they're good, most likely I will sell them in a not too distant future unless they're REALLY good.
