Shawn Layden just confirmed that PSX won't be happening this year. He cites the reason that outside Days Gone and Dreams that Sony feel they don't have enough content for 2019 to justify putting on such an event this year.
@JohnnyShoulder"We won't have it in the States this year," he continued. "The reasons behind that really are we don't have... we have a lot of progress that we're making on our games... Now that we have Spider-Man out the door, we're looking down into 2019 games like Dreams and Days Gone. But we wouldn't have enough to bring people all together in some location North America to have that event. We don't want to set expectations really high and then not deliver on that. It was a hard decision, but we have determined that this year we will not hold PlayStation Experience.''
He doesn't say anything about games being delayed into 2020 or anything like that. He just used Days Gone and Dreams as examples of 2019 titles. No reason to worry
I mean, it's pretty clear what the real reason behind no PSX is. Shawn Layden said he'd have more news on PSN name changes before next PSX, so if they indefinitely delay PSX, they won't ever have to touch PSN name changes
I guess the cancelation happend because Shawn promised an journalist last year that when they see each other again on PSX, the function of changing the PSN ID is released. Because we still don't have it, Sony canceled the PSX
