@nessisonett Unfortunately no. I ordered a second-hand copy online but came in broken, so I'll have to order another one. But I've been quite busy, so I haven't had the time yet.
Ah well, we’re bound to have a bit of a bust once in a while so I think we should choose a big game to renew interest. I’ll list a few games and you lot can decide what would be worth playing?
Shadow of the Colossus
Inside
The Witness
Hellblade
Hollow Knight
Sonic Mania
Devil May Cry V
Everybody’s Gone to the Rapture
Out of @nessisonett 's games I'd be interested in
The witness (I'm pretty sure I have it through psplus but I'll check on Tuesday
Shadow of the Colossus (got about half way through the PS3 hd version years ago)
Hellblade
Sonic Mania (again a half finished one for me)
Everybody's gone to the rapture (I'll give this a go but I did see a mate play it and it didn't seem like my sort of thing)
Out of @LieutenantFatman s I'd play
Papers please (though I believe this is vita only)
Crypt of the necrodancer (I have this on switch though I'm sure I'll suck at it!)
I'd give iconoclasts a go but it sounds like a metroidvania from past comments so I don't know how far I'd get with it as I suck at those sorts of games
@nessisonett I would definitely be willing to play Hollow Knight! It is a decently sized game with a lot of extra content. I've also been meaning to try it myself, so this would be a great way to start it as well as join the gameclub for once!
@Trisque My only worry is that we played Bloodstained last month, so it might be a little too similar? Honestly I think Hollow Knight would be a good one just because it has clearly definable checkpoints for each week but we should wait and see if any others would be willing.
Of those I’d throw my hat in the ring for The Witness. And maybe for DMC5 and Iconoclasts. Hollow Knight is a ‘maybe’ as well, but not sure about it given it’s apparent difficulty and I’m still getting my feet wet with 2D Metroidvanias. Most of the others listed I’ve played already. Hellblade would be a good one — it’s one of my favorites this generation and it’s not too terribly long and has a lot to discuss about. Shadow of Colossus likewise.
My other nominees would be Beyond Two Souls, A Plague Tale, DOOM (which I think we’re doing in a few weeks) and Valiant Hearts.

@Th3solution Yep up next is DOOM and then probably Resi 2 in time for Halloween. Just looking for a game for a couple weeks in the meantime.
Current tally for now above a couple votes (I’ll count maybe as a half point):
Hollow Knight - 3 and a maybe
The Witness - 3
DMC V - 2 and a maybe
Iconoclasts - 2 and a maybe
I'd definitely be up to participate in the following:
Inside
Hellblade: Senua's Sacrifice
Valiant Hearts: The Great War
I could also throw in a few games like A Hat in Time, Enslaved: Odyssey to the West, Forgotton Anne, Journey to the Savage Planet, Heaven's Vault, SOMA, Observation and What Remains of Edith Finch. Probably not worth naming the even lesser known titles in my backlog as I doubt they'd gain much traction!
@Tjuz Awh man, we just did What Remains of EF last month. It’s a great game! It just takes a weekend, tops. Most people finish in one play session for about 3 hours.
Inside and Hellblade are fantabulous too. Both very much in my top games I’ve played the last 5 years.
I’d add on support for Soma though! Somewhat curious about that one and have on a list to try one day.
Great idea for a thread!! Ive got quite a few of the games mentioned thus far between psplus library, some recent purchases and switch. Sometimes my gaming time is limited but would be keen to jump in (if that's cool) for doom, resi2, the witness, Hollow Knight, sotc or inside.
I’m still playing Ghost of Tsushima and don’t have much time for anything else at the moment.
How about in the future we do like a high score event? Pick games like Resogun, Hotline Miami, Nex Machina or even fastest laps on certain racing games.
@Th3solution Ah, too little too late then! I'll have to motivate myself to play it some other way then. I'm sure I'll get to it eventually! Hopefully there's still a chance to play Inside and/or Hellblade with the Game Club instead!
Current tally for now above a couple votes (I’ll count maybe as a half point):
Hollow Knight - 5 and a maybe
The Witness - 4
Hellblade - 4
Inside - 3
SOTC - 3
DMC V - 2 and a maybe
Iconoclasts - 2 and a maybe
@Tjuz As time has gone on, I just really appreciate Hellblade more and more. It’s take on mental illness is very unique and very well done. My biggest regret is that Ninja Theory is owned by Mircrosoft now and we won’t be able to play the sequel on PS5. I can take or leave any of the other Xbox exclusives, but it hurts me that PlayStation lost Hellblade. It didn’t set the sales charts on fire but did win a ton of awards for voice actor performance, sound design, and story. It seems to have landed during the Norse / Viking fad that seems to be prevalent now, but it’s approach to the lore is fantastic, regardless (I haven’t played God of War yet, mind)
Inside is really great too, has a really impressive art design and an interestingly odd narrative as well. I’ve talked to people who claim it is one of the best games ever, but I wouldn’t quite go that far.
What Remains of EF turned out to be more polarizing that I expected when Game Club played it. I adored the unique approach to a walking sim and it’s semi-creepy and messed up narrative. Gameplay-wise I felt like it was brilliant in some areas. I think maybe some of us fans of it oversold it and so some of the users impressions were less enthusiastic several weeks ago. So maybe take my advice with a grain of salt, but I think if you want to see something slightly different from your standard fare, definitely give it a go.
