Topic: Remaster version for Tekken 1, 2 + 3

Hi,

I have heard that some PlayStation 1 games were remastered for PS4 & PS5, it would be nice that they could remaster Tekken 1, 2 + 3 altogether for PS4 & PS5, but I am hoping for those old Tekken games to be remastered in the near future. Please let me know if you like the idea for Tekken to be remastered and it would be awesome if you agree with me on that one.

Nah, remaster Street Fighter X Tekken. I think that game is way too overlooked. I enjoyed it very much.

@TheIdleCritic The problem with Street Fighter X Tekken is it played too much like a SF game. I really wish they finished and released Tekken X Street Fighter as well but it is what it is.

Considering I’ve now played every Tekken game except 7, there’s literally no point in remastering Tekken 1,2 and 3. 3 is the pinnacle of the series by a country mile and other than a graphics rework, there’s not much point. Fighting games are rather obsolete when you release a new model unless they have dramatically different gameplay and if you want to play the original, just play the original.

@nessisonett Unfortunately because of Sony's lack of PS 1, 2, and 3 backwards compatibility the only way a PlayStation 4 or 5 owner would be able to play them would be a remaster. Yeah you can get a PS3 and be able to play 1-3 due to all PS3 models being BC with PS One games. You could also get a PS2 and Tekken 5 and play them that way too, but as I said for PS4 owners and soon to be PS5 a remaster will be the only way.

@Tasuki Oh that’s true, yeah. I played 1,2,3,5 and 6 on my Vita and played 4 and Tag Tournament on PS2. I’m now playing Tag Tournament 2 on Wii U. So 3 different consoles which obviously not everyone owns although you could play at least all of them except 7 on a PS3 that has backwards compatibility.
