@beemo @BAMozzy I'll have to respectfully disagree with beemo on that one and strongly recommend against watching The OA. Watching the trailer I was most certainly intrigued, but the show took all it's potential and ran it into the ground over the course of 8 increasingly worse hours. It's truly one of the worst shows I've ever seen, and I'd like to think I've seen quite a lot. The ending is an absolute joke too.

@Thrillho Come on, we all know Nosedive is the best episode of Black Mirror! No disagreeing!

@Kidfried I think you mean The End of the F***ing World, but The End of the F***ing Workshop sounds interesting too.

Thrillho

@Tjuz Really? I thought it was a pretty average episode. Anyone who says anything other than San Junipero is objectively wrong

I even have the soundtrack to the episode on a pretty awesome vinyl record.

Untitled

@Kidfried The End of the F***ing Workshop sounds like the Tarantino version of The Office.

@Thrillho San Junipero is most certainly second. Nosedive was just the perfectly paced adventure, with the perfect climax and the perfect lead actress. It's easily the closest Black Mirror has ever come to an all-around perfect episode.

@RogerRoger Wow - winner!

Have you seen the Batman TAS 'Honest Trailer' yet? it's pretty spot on!

@FullbringIchigo regarding the past weekend's Doctor Who episode - I quite liked it; even though it was pretty typically Chibnal - the 'countdown clock' MacGuffin wasn't too overplayed. JW is still entertaining, Yaz and whateverhisnameis are still completely overshadowed in all respects by everyone else on screen and the TARDIS is still effectively awol.
The Doctor even almost did two thirds of the episode without her magic wand! (The Sonic Screwdriver is the bane of most of new Doctor Who).

In other TV stuffs; the new series of Black Lightning is great so far, The Good Place feels like they're running out of ideas and Sabrina is really rather good!

Also, apologies to any and all for late replies - had half term off work and I'm normally just one here skiving

@RogerRoger I had a US DVD set for a long time and also a few rips - it was often in heavy rotation. It really is a great show. I envy your lack of recent watching! (that's a terrible sentence, sorry).

Sub Zero is much overlooked - not quite as good as Phantasm, but no Batman films are really.

@RogerRoger It wasn't just a rebrand -there was a slightly more WB cartoonish style to everything, not as much detail - it always reminded me of Freakazoid in that sense.

I'm hoping that Superman TAS and JLU get the same treatment, but I'm not holding my breath.

I got my Batman Animated Remastered Blu-ray set a few days ago but haven't watched it yet. I'm not a fan of the packaging, though since it's quite hard to take out or put the discs back into the cardboard sleeves.

Huntin' monsters erryday.

KALofKRYPTON

@RogerRoger The unboxing I saw the other day was a book style with the discs in cardboard sleeves.
I thought it looked quite nice myself, but the unboxer did seem to need to give a good tug to get the discs out.

@RogerRoger Yeah, the packaging/box had some dents unfortunately. They shipped mine in a box that was probably twice the size of the item. The item moving around inside the box is what probably cause the dents.

Yeah, it does require a bit of effort to take the discs out or put them back in.

Huntin' monsters erryday.

@KratosMD I've been meaning to watch that for ages, but was out off by what some people said about the first two seasons. Will defo give it a watch sometime now though!

Disney+ is the highly original name for its streaming service, due to launch late in 2019. Probably in time for whatever big Marvel film is due for home release.

Interesting to see what shows they have lined up, I had no idea these were even in existence.

This looks like it could be good.

Watched Rampant last week as well and it was pretty good. Actually liked it better than Train to Busan.

Just finished watching season 2 of Castlevania on Netflix. What a great series, really enjoyed it. I remember after watching the 1st season, I thought it was just good, not amazing. But with what’s transpired in season 2, I now understand that the 1st was really more world building and establishing the characters. My lordy, the 7th episode of s2 was jaw droppingly good!! Can’t wait to see what develops in the inevitable s3! Anyone else been watching this?

@KratosMD Well it's obviously the big D getting ready for their own streaming service. Which sucks. I just hope previous seasons will stay on Netflix long enough for me to watch everything lol.

It's been a few weeks since I've watched this, but I don't think I've seen any mention of it in here. The Haunting of Hill House is must watch TV. I generally avoid horror like the plague, since I'm quite easily scared and psychologically affected by that kind of content, but a friend pushed me to try it out and I have no regrets. Once you get used to the atmosphere of the show, it's very manageable. Underneath it all is a great study of family trauma and character relationships, with some incredibly well thought out and earned twists throughout the show. The acting and writing is top notch, and there's some fantastic cinematography going on in it. Episode 6 is also a directing highlight of the year, as it mostly consists of one-take scenes. It's a very well done show in all aspects, and easily the best new show of 2018 so far. Nothing even comes close.

In short, watch The Haunting of Hill House. You will not regret it.

@RogerRoger I'm glad you're enjoying The Good Wife! I personally haven't watched it, but I am up to date on it's spinoff The Good Fight, which is fantastic. It aired it's second season this year and is my favourite returning show of 2018 so far. Definitely watch that after you finish The Good Wife. The Kings are great writers, and I can't believe how jampacked these shows are with fantastic guest actors. Maybe one day I'll pull the trigger on The Good Wife too, but I'll try out Braindead first. Only because it's 1 seaaon vs. The Good Wife's 6!!!

@KratosMD Whaaaat?! I really enjoyed these Marvel shows and just finished season two of Daredevil yesterday. I already have Netflix, Amazon and Now TV so adding Disney to the mix is getting a bit ridiculous!
