@FullbringIchigo@Ralizah@Kidfried@Jaz007 Ok??? I didn't see any derailment going on. I thought that was what this thread was about. As long as the conversation stayed civil it was fine.

I actually prefer 2D Mario to 3D Mario games. Doesn't matter if it's NSMB, or classic SMB I just always enjoyed those more. I tend to get bored with the 3D ones really quickly.

@BowTiesAreCool@RogerRoger Bloodstone was a great game but i still think that Agent Under Fire is one of the best Bond games

@RogerRoger Goldeneye was groundbreaking for it's day as it showed that FPS games could work on consoles but yeah it did lock Bond into a genre that might not have been the best one for him
on a side note i went back and played Goldeneye recently and it has NOT aged well at all, in fact the remake is a much better game
there is another Unpopular Gaming Opinion: The Goldeneye Remake is a better game than the original N64 one

@FullbringIchigo It probably is, but was a comparatively weak fps for the time - whereas the N64 game was seminal. @RogerRoger I'd say that it helped legitimise Bond as a viable brand for a gaming audience.

@RogerRoger Could you imagine a Bond game now? It'd probably be a broody mess with some shooting and wasted actors and nice but wasted cars and a wasted villain and some really nice practical stunts but still not as good as Mission Impossible and Bond would be too old/black/female but still a bit of a pervy rapist and there still wouldn't be theme song as good as You Know My Name and...

@KALofKRYPTON yeah when Reloaded came out it was pretty much overshadowed by all the other FPS games but i also have to wonder if the original would have suffered the same fate if it was up against games like Call of Duty and Battlefield

I couldn't agree with her more. I lean the same way towards casting a black actor as Bond; Bond is a horrible, violent, rapey, misogynist. I really don't see the appeal of casting a black actor to portray that to portray that to be honest.

@RogerRoger yeah sounds like a promo thing plus they are just cars after all so you wouldn't actually need the Bond licence to use them just the licence from the car manufacturer although i'm sure they would have to have paid something to use the name

@KALofKRYPTON one of the great things about the franchise is they have the ability to eventually be more open in the casting as you could just say that the Name Bond and the 007 number is passed on to a new agent but i think they need to get Bond to a safer place as a character before they did that

@RogerRoger IF Idris is the next Bond, he has said numerous times he doesn't really want to play the part
personally i think Henry Cavill would be a good fit for 007

Honestly - I think they missed the opportunity to have a black Bond. They should have gone with Colin Salmon 15 years ago when, sadly, I really think it would've been more acceptable to the general public (the general public now being hugely more influenced by politicking) and less of a factional talking point.

@KALofKRYPTON I think that's what Daniel Craig did in the right way to an extnet, and I'll admit my memory of older Bond films is shakey, but the newer films come across as keeping it Bond, but a more rounded character at the same time. He comes across as more of a gray and real person. At the very least it takes out the rapey part.
Craig was a good pick to rejuvenate the series in the Bourne era. It's a shame he's so creepy in real life (he gets final say on female co stars, specifically the 'Bond girl' roles. creepy AF).
well with what happened in Avengers Infinity War it's possible he would be free to play the part
