There are some moments in games where you just think WOW or others where you just smile and laugh 😁 just wondered what yours are. To start mine is the drinking session between Geralt and his fellow witchers at Kaer Morhen in the witcher 3
going back a bit but The Landing from FINAL FANTASY VIII the slow music build up to a really good beat perfect for the mission at hand, the awesome CG cut scene intro that leads up to a fun boss fight and an escape through the streets while a giant walking tank relentlessly chases you
not to mention your decisions though this segment actually affect your rank, thus how much money you earn i just love it and it still gives me goose bumps even today
i SO can't wait for the Remaster to experience it again
"I pity you. You just don't get it at all...there's not a thing I don't cherish!"
"Now! This is it! Now is the time to choose! Die and be free of pain or live and fight your sorrow! Now is the time to shape your stories! Your fate is in your hands!
The ending of The Last of Us.
The ending of Red Dead Redemption 1 (main ending and epilogue ending) and RDR2 (main story ending)
NieR Automata multiple moments, but Ending E comes to mind.
Saying goodbye to Quiet in MGSV
The ending of Bioshock Infinite
... among others. 😄
“We cannot solve our problems with the same thinking we used when we created them.”
The end of disc 1 in final fantasy 7 was probably the first real WOW scene I saw in a game. Won't spoil it but those who have played it know what I mean
Fallout 3, 2008:
The first time i left the vault and opened the cave door and viewed the outside world for the first time. That was an experience shared by me and the protagonist. That the game started in the vault made that remarkable experience possible
In Fallout 4 the story starts ouside with only a brief time with little story in the vault before leaving. In Fallout 3 there is a lot of story before the player and protagonist see the world outside the vault.
@NoCode23 Great pick. Up until then i really wasn't sure on the game, with the birthday party and all that. But then the game opens up and you are like 'WOW'.
Life is more fun when you help people succeed, instead of wishing them to fail.
Better to remain silent and be thought a fool than to speak and remove all doubt.
Elite - Opening the Universe map for the first time. (bear in mind that we were playing pacman and space invaders at the time)
Mario Kart Snes - Mode 7 firing a shell into your mate and watching them spin out in split screen. Even better if its a green one and you aim it perfectly.
Streets of Rage 2 - The first boss fight when the barman runs out from behind the bar to have a scrap in the back yard.
Shining Force 2 - When your home area falls into the ground and you all become refugees. Actually the first time I have been sad for the game characters. Poor little turtle hiding in the shed
Sensible World of Soccer - The end of season, when every league in the World shows the end of season results - including the likes of New Zealand, Chile etc. So much data.
Ridge Racer - Skidding around the hairpin turn, all in 3d - at home! (the moment we realised arcades days were numbered)
Super Mario 64 - Climbing up a tree and pole vaulting off it. So good.
Final Fantasy 7 - Going into the overworld for the first time. Like. Wtf that first 8 hours was just the beginning?
Half Life - The introduction / first half an hour. All in first person and set a sense of place like never before.
Final Fantasy 10 - The international Sphere grid, best levelling up system ever. Zooming out to see the huge, seemingly endless amount of customisation.
Metal Gear Solid 3 - The End boss fight (not the last one but The End old guy who likes sniping). Epic boss fight, possibly the greatest of all time?
Halo 2 - Jumping on to the walking control station. It was the first time in a game I can recall where the area you stood on and fought over was a moving mechanical object.
Wii Sport - Everyone including your none game playing mum fighting over the controller to play bowling.
Mass Effect 2 - The ending when you see the reapers start to attack. Possibly the best cliff hanger in gaming!
Final Fantasy 13 - Seeing the Titan leer over the play area swaying to and fro. (similar the the serpent in PS4 god of war) absolutely gigantic.
The Walking Dead - No Lee Noooooooo!
The Last of Us - The introduction, easily my favourite in gaming it sucks you into Joel's shoes.
Rocket League - Hitting your first aerial. It's like a special move in a fighting game but way harder to pull off. Once you finally nail one it's like sex.
Horizon Zero Dawn - Taking down red maw using tripwires and living on the edge. Truly a remarkable moment in gaming.
Astrobot - Dipping your head into water in world 5. This is the future of gaming available on PS4.

@RogerRoger cowering, waiting for ten minutes, then you slightly move to see if the end has moved his position...
Only to be greeted by the camera snapping to third person and the end is stood above you. Game over.
