Here's a place to post which model you're going with and why. I am leaning towards getting just the wifi model, but I'd be very interested to hear, especially from people who have imported their Vitas, if there is a huge benefit to having the 3G that I'm not thinking of. Does not having 3G render apps like "Near" useless? Would the geochacing-esque dropping of items for others to find no longer be fun with the wifi only model?

I'm getting the 3G model because I have trouble getting wifi for my PSP at home.

Think I'll be opting for the wifi too. Don't think you can play games over 3G (too slow) and for wifi access on the go I can use my iPhones "hotspot" feature. The GPS doesn't seem that useful as I won't be using it for navigation or anything like that.

Be interested in knowing anything cool I might miss out on though before I make my final choice!

Completely agree with zaphod on this one. The fact that you can't use 3G to play online renders it useless, and I'd rather use the £50 on a game or two rather than a 3G connection I doubt I'll ever use.

Is every wifi/3g version going to be branded? What i mean is, are we going to be able to buy a wifi/3g version that isn't linked to any telecoms service providers like at&t, vodafone and docomo as is used in us, uk and japan. I live in a place where these are non exitent and I'd like to use our own local telecoms service providers. Please let me know what you think, this will help me decide whether or not to get the wifi/ 3g version.

Me three. To be honest, the 3G model doesn't provide anything that a modern smartphone (or even cellphone) can't do; and as we know, a huge majority of people certainly own a phone for their on-the-go browsing and GPRS needs. Plus, the 3G connection can't be used for real-time online multiplayer and comes with a data plan limit (2GB, iirc). Pretty much renders it useless.

I'd much rather station myself with my Vita sitting comfortably next to my router to have a good play/browsing session, be it at home, college etc. Anything more, I really don't need.

I'll be getting the WiFi version simply because I'll have no use for the 3G version.

It seems that the Vita will be locked to AT&T from the onset, but I doubt that it will stay locked to the carrier exclusively for  long. I've read that a user in Hong Kong inserted a T-Mobile simcard and the Vita was able to run on the service, but I'm not sure how reliable the source is though.

If we find any new info, we will definitely be letting you guys know.
