PS Now looks beautiful, but remote play with the PS4 is a bit of a mess compared to say, the streaming on the Wii U gamepad.
PS Now and remote play are largely crippled with the L and R button placement, from 1 to 3. The Vita was not made to replicate the Dual Shock 3 or 4, and until it does, the experince will leave a lot to be desiresd.
The PSP and PS1 retro title selection is pretty meh, especially in North America.
The button layout and overall ergonomics, although in function, it allows for console like experinces, does not feel as cohesive and intuitive as say, the 3DS XL (even with its sole analog stick). The orginal 3DS was not as well designed as either.
PS Now looks so much better on the Vita than on a 50 inch, and the latency becomes largely unnoticeable.
OS is clean, fast, simple, and a breeze to navigate.
Much more of a credible multimedia device than the 3DS could ever wish for.
The software library is better than the 3DS but also, it's lacking compared to Nintendo's machine, which sounds confusing, but it makes sense. The Vita has more depth and covers down on many more genres, but, Nintendo just knows how to make definitive handheld software. It's like, at the end of the day I'm very thankful for a title like WRC 2014, Street Fighter X Tekken, and the Metal Gear Solid HD (ish) collection......but ultimately games like Velocity 2x just feel so much more at home on a portable. Nintendo for the most part, knows that.
Glad you're enjoying the Vita. I agree with you that the Vita lacks the native controls required to make stuff like Remote Play really shine, but that's just the way things go, I guess. Some games do deal with these issues in clever ways, but it's a title-by-title basis.

Which games did you get with your system?
I purchased...
Metal Slug Anthology
Street Fighter Alpha 3 Max
Uncharted: Golden Compass
Street Fighter X Tekken
Velocity 2x
I'm just using a 64gb card for everything, which I was l Iucky enough to find stateside (at a stupid price).
I fully agree with the comments around the button layout for remote play, it was a real pain when trying to play things like FFXIV and Dragon Age. I upgraded my phone to the Xperia Z3 at the weekend, and the difference it makes is phenomenal - remote playing on a higher resolution screen, and using the DS4, is absolutely brilliant.
However, I do still love my Vita, and would have to say I personally find it more comfortable to use on a prolonged basis than my 3DS XL (not sure if yours is slim or original, but mine's original). And daaaaaaaaaaaaaaamn I want a card that big. I found a pack fairly cheap that came with a 16GB, which was about as big as I could find without paying an arm and a leg for it!
From 16/08/15 I’m going for sober for six months to raise money for the Princess Alice Hospice. Donations can be made here and anything you can offer is greatly appreciated: https://www.justgiving.com/Stephen-Butler5
Cant disagree, you may want to use your vita as a jrpg or tactics based games system. Ive found action orientated games don't suit playing on vita. Is metal slug anthology any good? I had it on the xbox (metal slug 1-4) but you had drop in coop. Rocket lauunchaaa classic.

I actually sold it already to help fund a new 3DS XL (I also sold my Wii U). Came to the conclusion that all I really needed was one dedicated home console and one portable for when I travel overseas.....and well, my Wii U spent long periods collecting dust during the last 2 and a half years, unlike the PS4 which is pretty much on nightly. As far as portables, I've become pretty attached to the 3DS library since it's inital launch, and I just found myself drawn more towards the Nintendo exclusives over the Vita's indie support.
Metal Slug anthology was pretty ace and a recommended buy, I read some reviews about long load times on the PSP, but at least on the Vita, this was not noticiable. I just played single player, so dunno if online is still functional, I would presume not. Still a blast to play with good performance all around.
I'm pretty new to the Sony lineup outside of the PSP, but just from my general observations suring the last 20+ years, when it comes to consistent value and support...
I'm with you about multiple systems, though. I prefer to concentrate on a couple of systems' libraries, as I don't have time to play everything I want on those machines as it is.
XCX is perhaps the most technically impressive Wii U title so far, but I don't like JRPG's, even if it does have a more interesting setting than most. Zelda U also looks fantastic, but the last must own Zelda titles for me were the two N64 incarnations.

Yeah, I brought my Vita and 3DS XL with me to a recent trip to Florida. Unfortunately during the return flight, the 3DS XL screen was cracked somehow (I'm gonna blame security). The Vita wasn't really impressing me and I wanted a new 3DS given how much I had on that SD card. So the choice was to sell the Vita and get a new 3DS XL.
