Does anyone here know any news/prospect/insider info about this game's release date in English language?
I'm playing DigimonStory: Cyber Sleuth but it's a traditional RPG (it's essentially a Pokemon game on Sony platform) and can't scratch the itch I have for the original PS1 Digimon World. Loved how you DO NOT have direct control of the digimon and instead you rely on his AI script (assisted by the Intelligence stat) to 'guide' them to win a battle.
Also day/night cycle along with feeding/toilet system, a bit of Sims, and lots of funny quirky moments.
The digimons inside that world felt alive, especially your partner digimon. Eating, breathing, pooping, rejoicing and getting angry/sad, being hurt/ill, and disobeying you. Not many games make you feel the 'pets' or 'partners' inside feel really alive.
It was one of the best PS1 games I've ever played.
The JOY of witnessing your first ever successful digivolution from Champion-> Ultimate. And the wonderful experience of uncovering the mystery of the 'digivolution conditions' (back when internet was scarce and GameFAQS was not easily available).
Nowadays too much information is immediately available soon after a game is released with all kind of datamined information on game's in-depth mechanics.
I'm so going to play this game without ever looking up anything on internet. That was the true way to play any game, and still is, but we're so spoiled now. A 'simple google away' is such a easy and tempting thing to do..
Given Cyber Sleuth's positive reception (I'm unsure how well it actually sold, but I'm sure it couldn't have done badly) I'd assume that Bandai Namco is at least thinking about localising Digimon World. I'd also assume that if it did, it'd bring the game to PS4 as well as Vita, much like it did with Cyber Sleuth.
If it's coming, it'll probably be 2017 at this juncture, but I reckon we'll get an announcement this year. Unless Cyber Sleuth bombed - again, I doubt it - then I see no reason not to localise the next game.
I just completed my first playthrough of Cyber Sleuth. Pretty solid, well-written story with great surprises in there, definitely refreshing.
I read good things about the sales of Cyber Sleuth so here's hoping that next 0rder will be localized. 2017 is agonizing though, I really wish it makes into this year.
