EDIT: It seems there were some of the Sakurai Wars games in Japan for PSP, PS2, and DS as well. Looking more at it, the artstyle seems very similar to that of Fire Emblem: Awakening, which is really good, IMO.

Sakura Taisen/Wars (Sakura, no i) is a massive series in Japan and one of the finest "hidden" gems. Set in an alternative 1920s Tokyo with giant mechs and samurai-like ethics and life the game is primarily a tactical role player but sprinkled dating sim and visual novels (in greater frequency as the series progressed) over the gameplay. They're brilliant. Think there's been over twenty games released so far and there's also been an anime, several manga and even a maid cafe! Sakura Shinguji (the icon of the series) is a brilliant character and should have been in Sonic Racing Transformed - especially over nobody Dana Patrick and the ridiculously infuriating Ralph, characters who have no right being in the game.
IfExstetra can be even half as good as a Sakura Taisen then it's something to get excited about. Even if it will only sell about twelve copies out of Japan.
"Oh smeg. What the smegging smegs he smegging done? He's smegging killed me."
