I was planning on buying X-2 eventually and then I heard this was coming out, so that's even better. I won't have to play on old hardware, meaning even if the game hasn't aged well this HD collection should make up for that. It looks even better than I thought.

I agree. This could possibly be the most well-treated HD-release yet...

I am almost certain that Final Fantasy XII (the Zodiac one) will get a similar treatment due to the success of this... (i.e. I think that the games will sell enough)

Wasn't really a huge fan of Final Fantasy XII at the time, although I liked it. Some games grow on you over time...

Would certainly be a perfect handheld title!

XII was a lot of fun, it just didn't feel like Final Fantasy, to me. They really departed from the formula with that one. Maybe it was because I had already played XII, but I feel like XIII was closer to what I was expecting from FF, and I loved it. I'm sure Squeenix will milk it and release it again somewhere down the line, maybe two generations later on the newest handheld or something, but I don't expect to see a FFXII HD release any time soon; it's kind of the black sheep of the series, I think.

"I mean, if we HAD to single out one of the vast number of Final Fantasy titles which we could make in HD, it would have to be Final Fantasy XII. I was not involved in the project, though, so we can't really comment on that."

"What I can say though is that I hope the remastering of X and X-2 will trigger similar projects for more of the past games."

Square Enix: Success for FFX HD could "pave the way"...
