Okay so, I didn't purchase Jill and Shuma-Gorath as DLC, I actually got the code for them in my Special Edition copy of Marvel VS Capcom 3. So does that mean I have to purchase them even though I have them on my PS3, or am I missing something?

you should be able to just download it free on vita in the psn. Just look for it on your download list and it should have a button to start the download.

Maybe it's like Hustle Kings where there is a different DLC that was just marked as a price of "free" since I bought the PS3 one. Did you check under PS Vita Add Ons followed by UMvC3? Hopefully that works
