Topic: Vita OLED screen splotches issues

Apparently when I play my Vita in the dark, and the backlight is on, and the screen is black, but the pixels aren't actually rendering black, then dark splotches are very visible on the screen. Have you all noticed this? How bad are your splotches? Most people notice it only on loading screens, and almost never during gameplay, but I notice it while playing Corpse Party on a stairwell when half the screen is dark and it's actually kind of frustrating.

It's not a problem with your system, unfortunately it's just a limitation of the OLED technology. All systems are exactly the same. Just try to ignore it, I guess?

I noticed this as well and figured it was my screen protector. I ONLY notice it on pure black loading screens and never in game play anyways.

I have a couple on mine too o.o
They're pretty much only there when it's on a black loading screen...

Haha! I noticied this too! I was concerned, but thoroughly investigated my screen where I saw the blotches and they don't show up when the screen has colors on it.

Try to play in a well lit area. That being said, I've tried like hell to see these splotches, even going into the bathroom last night with no light whatsoever, and I can't see them.

Yeah, I get the splotches on the screen too, but only when it's fairly dark, and only ever on black loading screens. Mine seem to be all around the edges of the screen though. Also, has anyone had freezing problems? Just had one yesterday, my first one. Maybe it hadsomething to do with the fact that I played Blazblue for 4 hours on end. D:

yeah i don't see myself returning my Vita again. I'm just going to live with my set of splotches. Apparently they are on the very vast majority of screens in some pattern or another and the odds are I'll just have different looking splotches. The only game it affects during gameplay so far seems to be Corpse Party, and again only when playing in the dark.

I've got them too and considering its ONLY on a stagnant loading screen and doesn't ever affect the gameplay, I don't give a rip. Let it screw up my visual in-game and off to Sony it goes! 

I've only noticed them when I first start up mutant blobs attack, but it isn't a problem after that so no concerns here.

I've noticed the splotches numerous times after I changed screen protectors when I panicked while my Vita froze. It's annoying, but not nearly as annoying as seeing scratches on the screen like on one of my older PSPs.

But thanks to this topic, I now know that I don't need to get another Vita since it sounds like it affects all of the handhelds (besides, I don't want to pay another $250-$300 for another Vita that's also going to have splotches).
