Just looks like a better version of the Wii U. Don't really get why people seem excited by it but whatever. Hopefully they make some good games for it as that's what consoles are all about.
I'm intrigued, but as of now it's not for me.
I hate the name and the controller doesn't seem particularly comfortable. It also seems like it won't be backwards compatible which is a shame as the only reason I'm even considering buying a Wii U is for Bayonetta 2.
Also will Nintendo now start charging for online, with all the third party support? Sony and MS would have to respond accordingly if they kept it free, resulting in a better product for us all around.
If they release a white one it might make for a nice complimentary 2nd console. At the very least I'm hoping for a Wii U fire sale.

@Johncalm No more waiting to get home to carry on the game just play in your breaks at work or on the way home. What they have created is a product that has both markets home and out of the home. For me thats the important part. No more putting up with a toned down portable version of the game you have the same where ever you are. I think its a lot better system then the Wii U. I have not bought a Nintendo since the Nes days so this will be my first in many years.
Yeah, I get that. But my question is; how many people actually care about that?
That's why I think the design is fundamentally misguided. It's a solution to a problem that I don't think many gamers have, and so if that's the major selling point of this console and it's going to drive up the cost of it, then I question the logic of doing it at all.
For example, if this costs $399 but it could cost $299 without the portability, would you happily pay the extra $100 for that feature? I sure wouldn't.
I like gaming on the go - it could be what the vita promised, console gaming on the go. Of course, this all looks expensive so would have to be a sweet price point for me to hop on if I'm honest.
Now I may be an idiot, but there's one thing I am not sir, and that sir, is an idiot
They did a better job marketing/explaining this to casual fans in 3 mins then they did the whole Wii U cycle.
Pretty much this.
I still have a lot of question; How many of those third parties will stick around? Battery life? Internal storage (32GB on the Wii U was a joke). How about the triggers, analog or not? Price?
As I said on NLife, it looks promising, but now it's the time to deliver, cause it really depends on a dozen or so variables whether this will be a success or a Wii U 2.0.
To be perfectly frank, I'm definitely going to end up getting one of these things purely for the fact that there will eventually be a main line Pokémon game made for it.
@johncalmc: Look at it this way, too - Nintendo was dividing their games between the Wii U and the 3DS. Now there's the possibility every game that would have come out for a handheld and console will now be available on one consolidated system. I think there's a lot of potential in that.
As for me, I don't really care for the name, but I'm definitely interested. I just hope it's comfortable somehow.
@johncalmc: That depends on your life. I for once i'm always in the library and sometimes you need a break. This well help me alot i mean mario like console mario on a tablet with normal functioning buttons... YES PLEASE

Because you can't take the gamepad of the Wii U on the go, but with the NX you can because the game runs inside the "gamepad". But also because you can basically use an Xbox 360-like controller for the console if you don't feel like using the tablet. This is what Wii U should've been basically, because this will most likely work as the company is intending it to work (as a system you can play wherever you are).
Also new 3D Mario and enhanced Mario Kart 8. Can't wait.
You can already use a Pro controller for the Wii U and it works fine. I really don't get it. This is basically just what the Wii U should've been, it doesn't really seem like anything innovative or impressive although I guess it all depends on the games library. The tablet doesn't look that portable on this one either (although I get that it doesn't need to be connected to any main unit this time).
I've always had 2 consoles per generation and one of them was always a Nintendo one simply because they offer classic but different games. In a world full of realistic and often broken games it's always a joy to enjoy the colourful, refreshing worlds created by Nintendo.
So is this what the NX is? I like the idea, although it seems like the kind of thing that would harder in execution.
Still, as long as it has good games I'm happy.

I see alot of people are confused by the portability of the system but if you know Nintendo it makes complete sense.
1) Japanese society tends to be on the go alot more the NA or even European societies. So the fact they aren't at home much makes a portable more desirable.
2) Nintendo has always done better with the handheld market. The Gameboy, the DS the 3DS have always done better then the home systems.
It's just nice to see Nintendo finally embracing what they are good at.

The big take away I have from all this... Pokemon is finally going to be playable on a 'home console.' I'm not a fan, but I respect the power that series has in this industry and that alone will be enough to ensure this thing sells much better than Wii U did. I'm looking forward to getting more info on this machine, including how the idea came about. Given Nintendo's massive success in the handheld market I wouldn't be surprised if this idea was considered from time to time, they just didn't have the tech needed to pull it off.
@Splat Capcom are already working on a new Monster Hunter for 2017. It wouldn't make sense for them not to release it on the Switch (since it has portable mode), imo.

This is the best thing about it. That and meaning I'll be able to play Pokemon on my TV if I get one.
I just want to see more information about it in terms of features and UI and everything because the central gimmick - it's essentially a handheld with an HDMI Out port - does little for me. Does it have achievements? What's the battery life? How much storage? Can we play old games? Depending on the answers to these questions and more, I'm either going to be excited for this or I'll just be giving up on Nintendo hardware.
