Sega sacked them off after the initial reveal and subsequent reaction.
Not sure who is contracted to handle the actual hardware, but at least M2 are reportedly heavily involved in the software - which can only be a good thing!
It would've been pretty easy just to slam a freely available emulator and a bunch of roms on to a basic 'off the shelf' SoC for this (like Nintendo and SNK did, and in fairness, the system isn't going to be particularly complex) - but Sega are at least finally looking like they care about the Mega Drive!
Also - the biggest issue with the AtGames stuff was always the Firecore emulator they used. It was trash, and better has been out there for a long time. Their hardware was always low quality too, though the little handhelds they did are fun little toys. Everything sounds really bad though!
@Ralizah You can never own too much Gunstar Heroes. I already have it on the Wii and PS3. I was even on the global leaderboard for the game on PS3 at one point.
@RogerRoger Infamous was the first PS3 game I ever played back in 2009 when I first got one. Loved that game so much. I need to try the sequels eventually.
Link's Awakening (GameBoy)
A boxed copy of Spyro the Dragon, my first ever game.
Horizon Zero Dawn, why not right?
Gamecube Memory Card
Gamecube, all in box
GameBoy Player
Spyro: Enter the Dragonfly (GCN)
Spyro: A Hero's Tail (GCN)
Pikmin (Wii)
Spyro: Shadow Legacy
Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers of Sky
Resident Evil 4 (Wii)
More money than sense.
Now Playing: Mario & Luigi Brothership, Sonic x Shadow Generations
Now Streaming: The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom
@RogerRoger You can go on the CEX website and see if they have stock in a local store. You put your post code/Town in and the nearest stores that has stock will list. Used to do it with PS4 games all the time.
@RogerRoger No worries! It is surprisingly reliable too. I think I've only been let down once if my memory serves me right. But that was a new game and was proving tricky to get hold of in my local store.
Life is more fun when you help people succeed, instead of wishing them to fail.
Better to remain silent and be thought a fool than to speak and remove all doubt.
So lately I've picked up some more stuff. Yes, more.
Horizon Zero Dawn, which I look forward to playing assuming the lack of CVD modes doesn't bite me.
Spyro the Dragon, boxed. Just for my shelf, my first game ever after all.
The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening, ahead of the remake.
And then I went online. Oh boy.
Mega Man II (GameBoy)
Super Mario Land
Super Mario Land 2: 6 Golden Coins
Pokemon Colosseum (My other copy doesn't work)
Simpson's Hit and Run (Gamecube) - Because YES
Crash Bandicoot: The Wrath of Cortex (Gamecube)
A lot of stuff just on Gamecube, I want to build that library up since my PS2 copies are definitely not prime anymore.
And I have 6 more things coming in the mail...
Mega Man: Dr Wily's Revenge (GameBoy)
Mega Man III (Game Boy)
Mega Man Battle Network 3
Metroid Fusion
Pokemon Pinball: Ruby and Sapphire
Mario Party 5
If it's not obvious, right now I'm focusing on filling gaps in my favourite franchises, so Metroid, Mega Man, Pokemon, Spyro, Crash...
And my next long term goal is to properly fill out my GBA and Gamecube libraries. A lot of games I missed in my time.
Now Playing: Mario & Luigi Brothership, Sonic x Shadow Generations

@RogerRoger I got Hit and Run since my PS2 copy is dying. Much like my copies of the Crash and Spyro games. That's nearly 20 years of constant use for you!
Now Playing: Mario & Luigi Brothership, Sonic x Shadow Generations
Now Streaming: The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom
@RogerRoger@Knuckles-Fajita The best Simpsons game hands down. I have a copy on both GameCube and the OG Xbox. Still play it when I get that Simpsons itch.
