@KratosMD I’ll be interested to hear how you like it. It is a pretty large game, I think I spent around 80 hours and didn’t quite do everything, so you may want to save in until you are ready to devote a decent chunk of time to sink your teeth into it. It reminds me a little of Dragon Age Inquisition but not quite that large and without the party system. And the more action combat, like I said. I heard some people complain about inventory management, but otherwise most people who like the genre were favorable about it. It’s something that I would have loved to see a sequel for.
The other games you bought — Enslaved, PoP, DI — are shorter, or at least more standard (20 hr or so) experiences. But yes, it is a really good diversity you have there.
“We cannot solve our problems with the same thinking we used when we created them.”
@KratosMD Congratulations on those brilliant exam results! Nice haul of games too!
Prince of Persia is lovely and absolutely gorgeous. I played it when my auntie was very ill in hospital and it helped me a lot. Bringing colour and life to each area in the game was something I really connected with. The platforming is very smooth and quite automated, which makes moving through each area feel rather nice. Combat is a weak spot perhaps, but takes a backseat.
Some uninformed or kindly soul just sold me a CiB Corpse Party: Back to School Edition for Nintendo 3DS for $50 + shipping, which is roughly what it would have cost to buy it new. Wouldn't be a great deal with most games, but in this case, the game was so out of print that CiB copies were running $100+ online. Even just the cartridge on its own typically cost in the neighborhood of $40+.
I've debated paying exorbitant prices online for it, but I kept biding my time, convinced that, eventually, I'd be able to obtain a copy for a reasonable price, and, sure enough, I secured one.
The other two big obstacles to my complete Nintendo 3DS collection are Yokai Watch 3 (the initial print run was so small that it practically sold out nationwide overnight) and Fire Emblem Fates: Complete Edition (I actually used to own this, but I perhaps unwisely sold it online about a year or so ago...).
Currently Playing: Fields of Mistria (PC); Cookie Clicker (PC); Metaphor: ReFantazio (PC); Overboard! (PC)
Purchased Ys I & II and Ys: The Oath in Felghana digitally for the PSP, although I'll play them on the Vita. I already have Ys Origin and Ys: Memories of Celceta, so now am all set to finally get into the series. After Trails of Cold Steel, of course.
Odd conversation topic but I recently opened and connected my PS Classic I bought in the Prime day sale last year for £15 and was largely unimpressed. Then I made some small, shall we say, adjustments (forum policy dictates I cannot disclose further), and now it has been my most used console this last week.
I also bought an 8bitdo controller adapter and can use a DS4 which helps massively with the control schemes for some of the games over just using a pad. Pretty pleased overall with my purchase!
Now I may be an idiot, but there's one thing I am not sir, and that sir, is an idiot
I recently bought the Megadrive mini but in terms of real retro gaming I've resumed collecting for the Saturn and recently picked up Panzer Dragoon Zwei and have Burning Rangers currently winging it's way to me for just £90 😳
Older than I care to remember but have been gaming since owning a wooden Atari 2600 and played pretty much everything inbetween.
@KratosMD Enjoy Saints Row 2! I've played 3 and 4 as well, but 2 is easily the best game in that series for me (and the only one I've finished). I did play it in co-op which I'm sure added to the fun, but you really can't go wrong singleplayer either. Let us know what you think when you've given it a shot!
So this little beauty turned up, took a gamble getting it online from CEX and it's in great condition, probably worth a bit more than I paid for it too 😁
people are selling their ps3 games real cheap these days i have noticed. it is a very good time to complete the collection, especially if ps5 ends up being b/c with physical ps3 games. i see listings ranging from from $4 to $10 for most titles. on ebay, the prices are at least twice that if not more so buying from local sellers is the way to go. here in canada, eb games recently had a promotion of buy 1 get 4 free as crazy as that sounds... they have been trying to get rid of their ps3 inventory. at any rate, these are the latest ps3 games i have purchased in the past 6 months or so:
portal 2
armored core 4
armored core: for answer
the darkness 1/2
folklore
bionic commando
drakengard 3
dante's inferno
ridge racer 7
dead space 1/2
killer is dead
lollipop chainsaw
shadows of the damned
asura's wrath
diasgaea d2
burnout paradise
fear 2/3
motorstorm trilogy
resistance trilogy
virtua fighter 5
spec:ops the line
test drive unlimited 2
there are very few ps3 games i want at this point... the last couple would be nier and el shaddai (this one is looking to be quite rare and will hold its value)
@Porco it is to most sadly, it definitely has some great box art in its library and I like the look of the big box cases, there's also some unique (though pretty pricey) games to go with it.

Bought Vita versions of The Nonary Games and Zero Time Dilemma in the PSN sale. I've wanted to play 999 for an extremely long time (the original DS version was never released in Europe) and more Japanese adventure games and visual novels generally. Plus it never hurts to give the Vita more attention.
It's such a beautiful handheld @RogerRoger. It deserves love!
Got paid so immediately got my head turned by the PS Store like a schmuck. Bought LA Noire, which I haven’t played yet and Dark Souls 2, which I played last year on PC and thought was pretty bad but want to give another chance. Anyway, there’s only 1 boss in the Soulsborne series I haven’t beaten yet and it’s in DS2 so out of stubbornness I’m gonna kill it.
@KratosMD yeah I've started collecting retro games again recently and never really thought about last gen stuff. Then when out today I looked at the PS3 games and was shocked at how cheap they are and for some truly outstanding games too. It'll definitely be a more regular occurrence for me now I've seen the prices, even better if you need to replace any cases there's a million copies of FIFA for 50p to choose from
