Everyone has had them. Those moments in games where you just sit back afterwards and go wow!
Here are my Top 5. Well probably, it is hard to say really, but these were good ones.
What are yours?

#5 StarCraft
Blowing up a fighter seconds before ramming it, then watching it break into pieces and fly through the wreckage. Sat back and thought – that was cool.  Might seem common place now, but back in the day that level of detail (debris) was unheard of.

#4 Dead Red Redemption
Riding into Mexico with Jose Gonzales singing in the background. Just poetic.

#3 Assassins Creed II
Actually getting the sensation of vertigo while climbing Giotto's Campanile (bell tower) at the Duomo cathedral.

#2 Resistance 3
Playing physically in a darkened room with Move and the Sharpshooter attachment. The game itself is dark and eerie. I walked into a large room and was swamped by aliens running at me from all directions. I backed onto a staircase so that they could only attack me from the front. It was frenetic close in counter combat killing 30+ aliens. Shooting wherever possible and doing hand to hand whenever one got through my guard.  At the end, I had a literal pile of bodies in front of me, still standing but virtually no heath. I also realised that I had just run out of ammo from every weapon that I possessed.

#1 Star Trek 25th Anniversary  – That Old Devil Moon
Beamed down to an alien planet. Arrived in a dessert with nothing but a cliff face and a locked door. There was a keypad but I didn't have the code. Endlessly tried random combinations but no luck. Beamed back up to the ship and checked the computer's log info on the planet. Found out that the race of people populating the planet gave one number religious significance. Thought Aha! Beamed back down and tried it. Damn. It didn't work. Tired other random combinations for a while before beaming back to the ship. Checked the computers log again, and noticed that the race of people had 3 fingers on their hands. Thought noooo, it couldn't be. But yep! Beamed back down and re-entered the number, this time converted into base 3. It worked!
Games by computer nerds for computer nerds. I mean…really.

This leaf from a tree in the East, has been given to my garden.
It reveals a certain secret, which pleases me and thoughtful people. - Goethe
