@SaiyanFury: No you're right SEGA never made a power base converter for the model 2. I think by the time the model 2 Genesis came out at least in NA they were done with Master System, heck to begin with Master System was never big in NA like it was in Europe or Japan so not to many people here needed something to play an old library of Master System games on. Honestly I never even heard of the Master System really till the mid 90's and by then we were in the middle of the 16 bit revolution. For awhile I thought the Genesis was the first Sega console.
But back on track there are a few places out there that have made a power base converter for the model 2 it's just me figuring out if I want to just get the Master System itself or get the converter as the converter runs about as much as a Master System.

I remember seeing the Master System for the first time around 1995 or 1996. My little mind was blown,......so wait, "SEGA had a system before the Genesis!!!, it looks old like the NES, how peculiar".
Atari 2600, Nintendo NES, Super NES, Sega Genesis, Sega 32X, Nintendo 64, Sony Playstation, ORIGINAL Gameboy, Gameboy Advance, Gameboy Color, Sega Gamegear, Turbo Grafx 16, Sega Dreamcast, Sony Playstation 2, Nintendo Gamecube and then the systems now...PS3, Wii, Wii U, 3DS, PSP, PS4 and I used to have the original Xbox and a 360, but got rid of them.
I currently own: 2 NES', SNES model 1, N64, Gamecube, Wii Mini, PSOne, PS2 Fat, PS2 slim model 2, PS3 super slim, ps4, xbox, Genesis Model 2, Sega Game Gear.
I have owned a lot of other systems, but sadly I sold them : Dreamcast, Wii U, Xbox 360, 2 Game Boys, GBA original, Nintendo DS, Nintendo DSiXL, Nintendo 3DS, 3DS XL, 3DO, Sega CD model 1.
Dunno if they qualify as retro, but I still have my PS2 (which needs replacing), Wii, PSP, PS3 and DS (original version). I used to own a PS1, original GBA and a launch model 360, but got rid of them because they kept breaking.

PS3 Megathread 2019: The Last of Us
Multiplat 2018: Horizon Zero Dawn
Nintendo 2017: Super Mario Bros 3
Playstation 2016: Uncharted 2
Multiplat 2015: Final Fantasy 7
So time to add another console to the ol retro collection. I don't consider this one retro yet, but it's not current gen and it's no longer in production so still...
So I got me an Xbox 360 mainly due to the awesome library and I just missed having one. Felt good going back to some of my favorite games from last gen.

Last time i checked, i have the following (been collecting for a very long time)
Atari: 2600, jaguar
PC engine: turbo duo
Neogeo: CDZ, pocket neogeo
Panasonic: 3DO (fz-1)
Sega: master system, gamegear, genesis with 32x and Sega CD addon, saturn, dreamcast
Nintendo: NES, N64, game cube, Wii, and every generation of the gameboy, soon to be retroed Wii-u
Sony: Ps1, Ps2, PSP, soon to retroed Ps3
Microsoft: Xbox, soon to be retroed xbox360
My most precious retro console is SNES but I always wanted to have a Mega Drive as well. The most valuable console I have is a French RGB Nintendo 64. I also have a launch GameCube (with digital port) and a Game Boy Advance SP.
I really don't like the navigation bar of Nintendo Life continuously reappearing while browsing!!
I still have my Nes, Snes, Gameboy. I have my game cube games that I play on the wii. When I had my first child I sold my ps1, ps2, gamecube, DS, N64 and atari jaguar. Also have a PS4, vita, and xb360. Have always wanted a dreamcast and tempted though my wife won't like it. Regret selling my ps2.
I still have my NES in my bedroom. Other retro consoles we have stored away include PSone, PS2, Mega Drive, SNES, 3DO (!!!), Saturn, GameCube, Commodore 64, and ZX Spectrum. Oh, and the original Xbox.
I have a Retron 5 hooked up to my TV - it lets me play Mega Drive, NES, SNES, Famicom, and Gameboy/GBA cartridges. It works an absolute treat. I need to look into getting some more games for it, though. I have a bunch of Mega Drive games, but didn't grow up with a NES or SNES, so want to give a few Nintendo classics a try.
I suppose, technically, my answer is I have NO retro systems My Dad has a PS1 and original Xbox, plus my old PS3, and my Mum has a PS2 - all of these are my fault! Well, apart from maybe the Xbox.
The only real retro system I have is my PS2 - I did have a PS1 but it broke, probably becuase I played Stuart Little: The Game too hard or something.
I'm really looking forward to that Nintendo Classic Mini though, it seems really good value since it comes with 60 games and retro controllers. Considering I wasn't even near being alive during that era, I'll definitely pick it up
@get2sammyb: Yeah it was a design flaw that was correcected with the top loader NES. Appearently the blinking gray screen, scrambled title screens etc. wasn't the result of dirt, dust or anything like that it was how the front loader NES w as built. Supposedly the story goes that the NES was always suppose to be a top loader, you can see that with the Famicom but when it was brought over to America, due to the NA video game crash on 83 Nintendo didn't want it to resemble a video game console and even kept away from calling it that hence the name Nintendo Entertainment System and why Rob was packaged with it to give it the look of a toy more then a game system.
Also due to that reasoning the NA NES was designed to look and load like a VCR something that was a big hit in NA at the time to further push the idea that it wasn't a video game system. However due to that it caused damaged to the connectors over time which is why one would get the blinking gray screen of death.
