About The Game

Developed by Namco, Ridge Racer V is about exciting gameplay pursuing the sheer frantic fun of unrestricted racing. Drive super-cars with supreme power, speed and style that just can't be bought in a showroom. Upgraded to its utmost limit, RRV brings gamers a quality product both in terms of gameplay and graphical content. Backgrounds with amazing animation bring each screen to full life – configuration and buildings are depicted in minute detail, landscapes are reflected on the body of cars.

PS2 technology makes the best use of the improved rendering power of 3D polygons. Smooth, beautiful and outstanding visual images have been achieved by using Gouraud Intense Technique cultivated in the past versions of Ridge Series – watch the sparks fly as two cars rub together.

Gamers play in four different modes – Grand Prix Mode, the main game mode where improved AI ensures that your rivals are racing to win at all costs! Two players can compete in head-to-head competition, on a horizontally split screen during Versus Battle Mode. Race against the clock during Time Attack Mode as you try to achieve the fastest record or try the Free Run Mode where players can simply drive the courses – an ideal mode for training.

Namco have created a realistic space in which players feel they are actually taking part in a race, controlling a car and driving on a course. PlayStation 2 owners will surely see Ridge Racer V as a must-have game for their next generation collection.
