Review Star Wars Outlaws (PS5) - Open World Pledge Produces a Superficial Space Outing
Villainous to the end
Star Wars Outlaws has been billed as the first-ever open world game set in the Star Wars universe; a claim that immediately puts developer Massive Entertainment on the back foot. Ignoring the fact Star Wars Galaxies did it first over two decades ago, it opens the game up to an extra layer of scrutiny: is it even open world in...

News Star Wars Outlaws Patches in PS5 Pro PSSR Toggle, Lets You Turn It Off
Just like Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora
Ubisoft has patched another PSSR toggle into the PS5 Pro version of one of its games: Star Wars Outlaws. Available via update 1.5.0, a new "Upscaler Type" option can be found in the settings that lets PS5 Pro owners switch between PSSR and FSR. The update also makes the three graphics modes from the base PS5...
News Star Wars Outlaws PS5 Does Away with Forced Stealth in Major Update
"Jabba! This is your last chance. Free us, or die"
Star Wars Outlaws certainly had some teething issues at launch, and Ubisoft appears to be addressing them head-on, if perhaps a tad tardy some three months later. Still, Title Update 1.4.0 goes live today, November 21st, on PS5. It will do away with those forced stealth sections during story...
News Star Wars Outlaws Gets Post-Launch Creative Director Switcheroo
"He's all yours, bounty hunter. Reset the chamber for Skywalker"
Released two months ago, Star Wars Outlaws has a new creative director, with Drew Rechner replacing Julian Gerighty in the top job. It's admittedly a pretty unusual move from Ubisoft and details are fairly light; following a soft commercial reception, it appears Rechner will oversee...
News Star Wars Outlaws Slips PS5 Screen Tearing Bug into Latest Patch
Sleight of hand
Ubisoft pushed game update 1.3.0 live for Star Wars Outlaws in recent hours, ostensibly to continue improving the game's stealth mechanics, amongst other things. Unfortunately, a PS5 screen tearing bug also made its way in, with players quickly noticing the telltale "rippling" effect while the game is in motion and navigating menus.
News Stealth Issues Still the Focus of Star Wars Outlaws PS5 Patches
Game update 1.3.0 available to download now
A third PS5 patch focusing on the flawed stealth elements of Star Wars Outlaws has dropped today, with this latest update designed to "give players more flexibility in how they approach situations in addition to tuning enemy AI". Instant fail stealth sections were an issue brought up repeatedly during the...
News Big Star Wars Outlaws PS5 Update Takes Aim at Stealth, Performance
You may fire when ready
Title Update 2 is now available for Star Wars Outlaws, and Ubisoft appears to have begun meaningfully addressing the most common complaint we've seen: how stealth works. That said, it seems there is more drastic work to be done, with Title Update 4 (21st November) specifically focused on deepening stealth and combat...
News Report Finds Lack of Star Wars Outlaws Sales Disturbing
A million copies in a month
A million copies sold is, generally speaking, incredible news to any publisher of video games not named Square Enix. Unfortunately, that exception also applies when dealing with absolutely massive IPs like Star Wars. While we don't know what Ubisoft's sales expectations were for Star Wars Outlaws, we'd be willing to bet...
News Star Wars Outlaws' Rescue Roadmap Provides a Snapshot of Modern PS5 Gaming
Sit tight
In hindsight, Ubisoft should have delayed Assassin’s Creed Shadows earlier and pushed Star Wars Outlaws into the open worlder’s November release slot. That would have given both teams plenty of time to polish up their titles, and perhaps we’d be looking at a less dire situation for the French publisher. Still, the damage has been...
News Notorious Gambler Lando Calrissian Playing for Keeps in Star Wars Outlaws DLC
"The most civilized game in the galaxy"
While the future of the Guillemot family business remains unclear, those who picked up Star Wars Outlaws have earned a glimmer of hope. While sales were soft, Ubisoft pledged it's "fully mobilised to swiftly implement a series of updates to polish and improve" the game. The first piece of post-story DLC has...
News Star Wars Outlaws PS5 Patch 1.1.2 Has Trophy Fixes, Easier Stealth Missions
Now the Platinum Trophy can be unlocked
Having recently promised to fix the instant-fail stealth sections that litter the early game of Star Wars Outlaws, Ubisoft has deployed PS5 patch 1.1.2 to make the change a reality. The 1.92GB update is available to download now, and also fixes the Old School Cool Trophy, which was preventing the Platinum...

Preview Star Wars Outlaws Thrives in Its Rewarding Open World
PS5 heavyweight comes together nicely
As part of last month's Summer Game Fest season, Ubisoft allowed press to play Star Wars Outlaws for the first time in a demo made up of three different parts, each designed to justify the game's core pillars. Reactions were quite mixed — unfavourable comparisons to PS Vita game Uncharted: Golden Abyss were...
Preview Star Wars Outlaws on PS5 Has a World of Possibilities, But Is Let Down by a Rough Demo
It's easy mm'kay
Despite the overabundance of Star Wars in the last few years thanks to all of those middle-of-the-road Disney+ shows, there’s always been a bit of a white whale for those old enough to remember the pre-Disney era — that being LucasArts’ cancelled Star Wars 1313. While we have an endless number of games where you play as...

Saw an online gameplay of this and looks interesting so far. No telling how it might turn out in the end but as it is some time away from release it's often useless to advertise such games other than making it known it's progressing.
Speaking of progressing I can certainly see some division mechanics in the game such as the cover based and the gun play style. A different approach to EA star wars
