Final Fantasy XVI (PS5)

$32.49/£32.49 (-35%)

The Final Fantasy series has never been one to sit still, and with Final Fantasy 16, it's moved away from its turn-based traditions entirely. The first true action RPG in the mainline games, it's quite the departure from the norm, but it's an excellent entry nonetheless. Featuring a gripping story delivered by brilliant performances, incredibly fun combat, and some of the most spectacular scenes imaginable, this is a fantastic game that pulls out all the stops.

Final Fantasy X|X-2 HD Remaster (PS4)

$9.99/£9.99 (-60%)

If you're itching for an angsty JRPG that's very much a product of its time, Final Fantasy X|X-2 HD Remaster is the game for you. Square Enix did a great job of updating this saga for both modern and nostalgic audiences. Even though parts of it have definitely aged, Final Fantasy X remains a landmark release, telling a love story that's full of weird twists, spread across an intriguing and unique fantasy world. X-2, on the other hand, borders on fan fiction. A direct sequel to X that's campy beyond measure — but it's still a fun time thanks to well worked gameplay mechanics.

Forgotton Anne (PS4)

$2.69/£1.54 (-90%)

Forgotton Anne is a truly memorable and unique adventure title. Set in a land where forgotten objects become sentient beings, this is a cinematic puzzle platformer with wonderful animation that'll sweep you away into a magical world.

Ghost Giant (PS4)

$2.49/£1.99 (-90%)

This PSVR title flew under the radar when it first arrived, but it's secretly one of the headset's best. Ghost Giant casts you as the titular spectral figure as you look down on a beautiful diorama world, watching over a lonely little cat named Louis. Using your size and power to help him navigate the town and solve puzzles, this is a touching and memorable adventure that really uses VR to deliver something unique.

Ghost Trick: Phantom Detective (PS4)

$14.99/£12.49 (-50%)

Ghost Trick: Phantom Detective comes from the mind behind the Ace Attorney series, and while there's definitely some through-lines, this unique adventure really stands out. You play as a character who's just died, and must learn the truth behind his own murder — in doing so uncovering a wider conspiracy. Using your ghostly abilities to possess objects and rewind time, this is a wonderfully wacky puzzle adventure with a great story at its core.

God of War (PS4)

$9.99/£7.99 (-50%)

They only went and did it, didn’t they? God of War was as washed up as a Greek god after the fall of Olympus, but Sony Santa Monica found a way to reinvent protagonist Kratos and inject him into an all-new mythology at the same time. This alternate take on PlayStation’s bald-headed barbarian leans heavily on story, but it never forgets what made the series sing to begin with: fantastic action, larger-than-life set-pieces, and a fantasy world that’s begging to be explored. For our money it's the best PS4 exclusive on the market.

God of War Ragnarok (PS5)

$29.39/£34.99 (-58%/-50%)

God of War Ragnarok improves on 2018's already excellent God of War in every possible way — which says it all, really. It's a massive adventure spanning all nine realms of Norse mythology, and the game's jaw-dropping scope is probably its greatest asset. Just when you think you've seen it all, Ragnarok pops up with something completely new and exciting, time and time again. An immense experience, polished to near perfection. One of PlayStation Studios' best works.

inFAMOUS: Second Son (PS4)

$9.99/£7.99 (-50%)

Sucker Punch continues its popular superhero series with a brand new protagonist in inFAMOUS: Second Son. Taking the open world action to Seattle, you play as Delsin Rowe, a conduit with the amazing ability to absorb the powers of other superhumans. This gives you many more toys to play with as you progress, gaining unusual abilities based on smoke, neon, digital, and more. Exploring the city feels great, combat is fun and varied, and it looks fantastic — a great early showpiece for PS4.

Injustice 2 (PS4)

$2.99/£3.19 (-85%/-80%)

A visual tour-de-force, with a stunning cinematic campaign that actually felt worth a damn: Injustice 2 saw NetherRealm Studios on top form. With dynamically changing ladders introducing new challenges every hour and a neat loot system which added real replayability to the game, this fighter will go down in history as one of the biggest, most graphically stunning efforts ever to release on consoles at the time.

Inscryption (PS5)

$7.99/£6.39 (-60%)

A game quite unlike any other, Inscryption combines cards with horror and mystery in some truly unexpected ways. What starts off as a perfectly good roguelike turn-based card game quickly starts to go off the rails as you learn more and more about the world's lore, leading to some brilliant twists and turns in the story. To say much more would spoil the experience.

Knights and Bikes (PS4)

$9.99/£8.49 (-50%)

Knights and Bikes is an adorable action adventure about two best friend kids exploring their island home. Playable solo or in local co-op, this title is all about Nessa and Demelza's appetite for adventure and trouble, with the presentation effectively showcasing their wild imaginations and freewheeling sense of fun.

Kunitsu-Gami: Path of the Goddess (PS5)

$39.99/£31.99 (-20%)

One of Capcom's more left-field games in recent memory, Kunitsu-Gami: Path of the Goddess is a compelling combination of strategy and action. Playing as the guardian of a maiden with the power to clear a sinister corruption, you must tactically place villagers of various types around each stage in order to help ward off enemies that spawn at nightfall, when the game becomes a hack-and-slash. While it can be tough at times, there's real invention and charm to this unique title.

Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth (PS5)

$34.99/£29.99 (-50%)

With the best turn-based gameplay, the biggest and best cast of characters, and the most gripping story in the series so far, Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth is comfortably the greatest Yakuza game to date. Ichican and Kiryu hit up the new destination of Hawaii in search of the former's long-lost mother, but their quest really is just the tip of the iceberg. Improved combat makes fights more engaging than ever, upgraded graphics bring new life to classic locations like Kamurocho, and deep and fascinating characters both new and old mean you won't want to stop playing until the credits roll. Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth really is RGG Studio at its peak.

Little Nightmares (PS4)

$4.99/£3.99 (-75%)

Tarsier Studios, using its experience making LittleBigPlanet Vita, returns with something much more sinister. Little Nightmares might share some of that physics-driven platforming DNA with Sackboy, but tonally it's the other side of the spectrum. This is a creepy, atmospheric, horror-tinged puzzle platformer about a child trapped in a strange facility. Escaping will mean solving some intense puzzles and outrunning some horrible nasties.

Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol. 1 (PS5)

Including the first three games in the MGS series as well as older titles Metal Gear 1 and 2, this is a generous package with various bonus features, allowing you to revisit some true PlayStation classics.

Mortal Shell: Enhanced Edition (PS5)

$2.99/£2.49 (-90%)

Dark Souls, and its various spin-offs, has become a genre all of its own – and Mortal Shell: Enhanced Edition proudly flaunts its FromSoftware influences on its armoured sleeve. This re-release may not reach the same highs as the Japanese developer’s iconic outings, but it’s unquestionably an entertaining alternative if you’re searching for another punishing role-playing release. With tight combat, versatile play-styles, and a rich world to explore, you could do worse than this demanding character action title.

Neva (PS5)

$15.99/£12.79 (-20%)

A follow-up to the picturesque platformer GRIS, Neva is just as beautiful. Featuring truly gorgeous art and animation, this game is a little more action-packed as you follow young woman Alba and her companion wolf through a treacherous land. It's not the deepest game in the world, but it really packs an emotional punch thanks to its incredible presentation.

Octopath Traveler II (PS5)

$29.99/£24.99 (-50%)

Octopath Traveler II is a borderline must play for fans of more traditional Japanese RPGs. It's built like a classic but with modern design elements, resulting in a refined role-playing experience. An engaging turn-based combat system and a frankly gorgeous visual style make this a seriously impressive sequel.

Planet Coaster 2 (PS5)

$39.99/£31.99 (-20%)

Planet Coaster 2 builds upon the beloved formula in the original theme park management sim. Giving you the freedom to construct an amusement park and its rides however you see fit, the big new addition in the sequel is water rides, letting you make a real splash with all kinds of flumes, coasters, and pools. If you're into management sims, this is up there with the best on PS5 right now.

PowerWash Simulator (PS5)

$17.49/£13.99 (-30%)

Some simulation games are just work, but when the work is this satisfying, it doesn't really matter. PowerWash Simulator recreates the gratifying feeling of pressure washing away layers of dirt to reveal the glistening surfaces beneath, and it's deliciously addictive. Through a combination of excellent sound design, large, intricate levels, and various equipment to use and upgrade, developer FuturLab has landed on a simple but oh so satisfying formula that's fun in co-op and almost meditative in single-player.
