What are the best OS Tuning upgrades in Armored Core 6? As you progress through the campaign, you'll unlock the OS Tuning menu in the Garage, which allows you to spend OST Chips on upgrades for your mech — no matter the Weapons or Armor they have equipped. As part of our Armored Core 6 guide, we're going to reveal the best OS Tuning upgrades.
Armored Core 6: Best OS Tuning Upgrades
In order to unlock OS Tuning upgrades, you'll first need to acquire some OST Chips. You'll get these by beating enemy mechs in the Arena (See Also: All Arena Battles and Rewards), which is accessed from the main menu in the Garage, one option below OS Tuning. Beat the encounters and you'll be awarded OST Chips to buy OS Tuning upgrades with.
Below you'll find our recommendations for the best OS Tuning upgrades. We have included their cost — as well as the price of bonus upgrades — and why you should unlock them. If you wish to switch to different OS Tuning upgrades, you can press the Triangle button on the OS Tuning menu and pay some COAM to Reset OS Upgrades. You can then reallocate your OST Chips.
Boost Kick (System Unlocks)
By adding the Boost Kick to your arsenal, you're adding another type of attack. During an Assault Boost, you can press L3 again and your mech will come to a stop and kick whatever enemy is nearby. This move deals decent damage and also increases the stagger gauge. Since an Assault Boost just comes to a natural stop if you don't have this upgrade, the Boost Kick is effectively an extra attack for free.

Quick Turn (System Unlocks)
Increase your mobility by unlocking the Quick Turn function, which allows your mech to snap to the side or rear view point by pressing Circle and moving in a direction. With boosts already available, this upgrade makes your mech even more nimble. An enemy will need a really good targeting system to land a hit on you.

Assault Armor (Core Expansions)
This is a Core Expansion that you can activate during a Mission which creates a pulse explosion all around your mech, damaging enemies and building up the stagger gauge. You also won't sustain any damage when it's activated. This is a great option if you get surrounded or simply want to dish out a bit of extra damage while you wait for your Weapons to reload. The upgrades give you Additional Charges for the Assault Armor.

Pulse Armor (Core Expansions)
Instead of dealing damage with the Assault Armor, the Pulse Armor protects you like a Shield. For a limited time — or until an enemy has damaged it enough — you'll be immune to damage as the Pulse Armor protects you from incoming fire. If you've ran out of Repair Kits, this can work great as a last resort. However, since you only have one Core Expansion on your mech, you'll need to pick between this and the Assault Armor. The upgrade adds an Additional Charge for the Pulse Armor.

Explosive Weapons - Fuse Control Tuning (Attack Control)
The Explosive Weapons that are mounted onto your back are going to deal the most damage to enemies and bosses, so why not make them even more powerful? With this set of upgrades, you can deal extra damage to any foe in the game; it could be the difference between beating a boss and dying yourself. The upgrades increase Explosive Damage in increments of 3%.

Melee Weapons - Drive Control Tuning (Attack Control)
Melee Weapons are the unsung heroes of Armored Core 6, so much so that we strongly recommend having one equipped to your L-Arm Unit at almost all times. They're very powerful, but we're always going to say yes to a damage increase. This unlock makes your Melee Weapons even more effective in combat. The upgrades increase Melee Weapons damage in increments of 5%.

Direct Hit Modifier - Damage Tuning (Attack Control)
The Direct Hit Modifier allows you to deal increased damage whenever an enemy is staggered (when the stagger gauge flashes red having been filled). This is a state when a mech is mostly immobile and suffers increased damage, so taking away even more AP on top of the troublesome state for an enemy is welcome news for you. The upgrades increase Direct Hit Modifier damage in increments of 5%.

ACS — Dynamic Deflection Control Tuning (Damage Control)
Having surely eyeballed the description on the right-hand side of the screen, this OS Tuning upgrade does exactly what it says on the tin: it reduces the damage you take from all sources. As such, it's a very obvious upgrade that's worth investing in. The upgrades increase ACS — Dynamic Deflection Control Tuning in increments of 3%.

Repair Kits — Optimization (Damage Control)
Since you can't get any more than a maximum of three Repair Kits, this OS Tuning upgrade is the only way you can make the ones you do have better. By applying these upgrades, Repair Kits will restore more of your AP at once. The upgrades increase Repair Kit — Optimization in increments of 500.
