Where Are All Special Bots Locations in Astro's Playroom?
There are 4 Special Bots to find in Astro's Playroom, each located in a different world. Below, we'll reveal all Special Bots locations.
GPU Jungle Special Bot Location
Upon loading Astro's Playroom, a message will reveal: "A Special Bot has appeared in GPU Jungle and needs your help! Solve the riddle to rescue it. It may all be connected to Astro's next big adventure? Let the search begin! Tick tock..."
In order to find the Special Bot in GPU Jungle, travel to Renderforest. A second message will appear, revealing: "A Special Bot is hidden and trapped in Renderforest. Can you find it and solve the riddle to set it free?"
Head immediately forward and climb to higher ground, then look to the left where the Lady Maria-style Astro Bot is showing off her swordplay skills. In the foliage behind her, punch the grass and a trapped Lady Maria Special Bot will appear in a capsule.
Climb up to the platform where the caterpillars are roaming and destroy them. Then hold down the Square button to attack the plant that sprouts with a spinning move, causing it to grow so you can climb up the CD leaves.
Navigate across the tree tops to the third tree. On the outside you'll see a clock. Push the Options button while standing in front of it and a clock will appear. Input the date 24th November, 2015, which is when Bloodborne: The Old Hunters released. This will free the Lady Maria Special Bot and unlock the Hunted Down Trophy.
SSD Speedway Special Bot Location
Make your way to the level SSD Speedway. You'll be greeted with a message that says a special bot is hidden somewhere in Deep Dataspace.
Travel to this part of the level. Proceed through the stage as normal until you reach the first dynamite enemy.
Head up to where the checkpoint is, and on the raised platform behind the pink plant is a small outcropping. Stand here and look out to space, and the special bot will appear. It's Selene from Returnal! On Selene's capsule is an image of an astronaut.
Pull the nearby wires and open the chest to get the weapon. Proceed through to the next area, taking down all the enemies as they come. When the room fills with green enemies who shoot projectiles at you, stop shooting; you need these guys alive.
Climb past these enemies and carefully reach the top of the walls of this room, which you can walk along. Up here, you'll spot a small astronaut lying on the ground. Stand over it so a blue circle illuminates around it. Wait here for one of the enemies to fire a projectile at you. When one hits you, Astro will be reset to the last checkpoint, and Selene's capsule will open. She's free, and you'll nab the Déjà Phew! Trophy.
Cooling Springs Special Bot Location
Travel to Cooling Springs and you'll be told to head to Bot Beach. Slide down the slide to the beach, and prepare to follow some fairly obscure instructions. To begin, you'll need to step on four starfish in the following order:
- On the right side of the beach beneath the bridge with the fishing Astro Bots
- On the left side of the beach near to the Kratos boat
- Next to the tree in the middle of the beach, alongside a similarly coloured shell
- In the far left corner of the beach, next to the building's wall
Once you step on the final starfish, the Gran Turismo Astro Bot will appear. There'll be a race circuit screen beneath him.
Go to the far right corner of the beach, next to the building, on the opposite side of where the Gran Turismo Astro Bot is. There's a blue shell you can punch to reveal a steering wheel.
Punch the shell to reveal a steering wheel, then stand in front of it push the
button to bring up the map. You'll hear a car engine to confirm you've done things right.Press the following buttons in the following order to trace out the race circuit as follows: Up Left Down Down Left Down Down Right Up Right Down Right Up Up Right Up Left Left.
You'll hear tires screech if you make a mistake, so just push
twice and start over if you need to.Once done correctly, this will free the Gran Turismo Astro Bot and unlock the Grand Tourist Trophy.
Memory Meadow Special Bot Location
Travel to Memory Meadow and straight to the level Gusty Gateway. Go under the bridge and immediately on your right pull the exposed cable cords to grab a throwable canister with a net inside.
Cross the controller cable bridge to the island with the strong wind, and then a second controller cable bridge. Directly ahead is an Astro Bot in Ape Escape cosplay hiding in a bush. Look over the edge of the island to see a blue aura in the clouds.
Throw the cannister with the net inside at the blue aura when the lock-on symbol appears to reveal the Special Bot.
Progress through the level to the area with the floating DualShock controller clouds. Use the clouds to reach the ledges on the wall opposite, and then climb up to the area above. Punch the tree directly in front of you by long-holding Square to perform a spinning attack. A banana will fall out of the tree.
Take the banana back to the Special Bot and he'll start dancing. You need to copy his dance moves by pressing the corresponding buttons on the d-pad. The sequence will be different for everyone, but below we've compiled the available dance moves and their corresponding buttons:
- Up The Floss
- Left The Carlton
- Right Stayin' Alive
- Down The Dab
This will complete the challenge, unlocking the Ape Escape Special Bot and earning you the No Escape! Trophy. If this is your final Special Bot to unlock, you'll also get the Four the Players Trophy.

The percentage for all the new trophies is at least 0.1% so some must have found the other 3 bots lol!
Bit of a misleading title.
We all know where they will be.
Memory meadow, gusty gateway, behind the ape escape bot
SSD speedway, turbo trail, where gravity rush girl is juggling the apple up the wall
Cooling springs, frigid flies, where the bot is waving the race end chequered flag. (You could probably backtrack from hotel hopalot checkpoint, to be fair)
You'll just have to wait 30 days in between each
Thanks for the guide. These are so utterly obscure I don't know how they expect people to find them. I mean parts where you're supposed to just stand somewhere till something appears... The hell?
[edit] Memory Meadow guide is a bit wrong, no point getting the canister with a net in it at the start as you need your hands free to pull out the two cables to walk across first. THEN get the canister.
The creativity is God Tier. After getting the bots I almost forgot to get the remaining PS5 artifacts and going into the mission room where other bots are hard at work, accompanied with a visible countdown when release is due!
4 days ...
This hasn’t triggered for me at all. No word about new bots
