I’m hoping to see resident evil 4, hogwarts, and god of war ragnarok PS4 games get some heavy discounts. 🤞
Ragnarok and Last of Us Part I I'm hoping for. But something decent and not a reduction from £70 to £50. That still isn't a reduction in my brain.
Now if LOGITECH Driving Force G29 Wheel is on offer close to £100 then I'm finally biting.
@AG_Awesome I've seen the digital edition upto about 40% off and physical upto about 55% off
@AG_Awesome
GoW Ragnarok is between £28-30 for ps4. I don't think it will go any further till New Year.
@silverspeed @Drago201 Thanks guys. I snatched it for 30 yesterday! Great timing. Lol.
And Walmart says resident evil 4 and hogwarts will hit that for their sale so I’m expecting someone else to match it in the days leading up. At least ps4 is getting sales though. My switch list is like untouched by every retailer . Lol.
Black Friday “deals” of PS5 being the normal price 3 years after launch with a likely cheaper to produce model on store shelves are not the deals I’d tell my grandkids BF was all about.🤪
Only deal I’m currently interested in is GoW:R for $35 at BB which after a year honestly I was expecting it to be less. Maybe I’ll trade it in for a couple of bucks when I’m done.🤷🏻♂️
https://www.bestbuy.com/site/god-of-war-ragnarok-standard-edition-playstation-5/6523243.p?skuId=6523243&extStoreId=467&utm_source=feed&ref=212&loc=1&gad_source=1&gclid=Cj0KCQiA3uGqBhDdARIsAFeJ5r3vN2qT8Osg-3wmO3C6WqLeVGdGs5qXblSzQ6pHet_Dp_usVdAhYW8aAsSeEALw_wcB&gclsrc=aw.ds
May wait and see if any store has a B1G1 deal so I can pick up GoW:R and Spider-Man 2.
@AG_Awesome kool glad to help as for switch Amazon is usually best since they tend to price match or gamestop with used copies 😀
Managed to get a spare PS5 for £312 today, all thanks to a staff discount. Happy days.
Amazon have Resi 4 remake at 24.99 today - grabbed mine with an Amazon voucher from my MS Rewards, thanks Microsoft!
Ragnarock and GT7 are available for £29.99 PS5
@Discol76 Digital? I'll buy Ragnarock cheaper than that on a disc on aftermarket.
Redfall for 9.99... and there's Callisto Protocol for the same price and on a disc lol. Decision is clear.
@Tr3mm0r Physical. At Game. It was also available at Curry's for £29.99 but it looks like they've increased it again a little.
Argos had a great deal, I nearly finally jumped on the wagon.
Spider-man 2 bundle and get free dead space for 399.99. I nearly bought it but of course nowhere in the country had any left in stock. Why leave it on the site if no available stock?
Got a Cosmic Red Dualsense for 40 quid from Very today and I’m going to buy the same colour face plates from somewhere as they’re sold out on PS Direct
Got a black dualsense £39.99
And new Samsung Q90C QD-OLED 65”
Thinking about a PS5 slim for next Wednesday now.
Yesterday like the previous Black Fridays I saved 100%
Pleased with the PS deals out there this year. Picked up 12months ps+ premium for £75 thanks to a Shopto PSN credit deal and finally grabbed a second controller for £35 🙂
@sop So You stole something? Buying nothing isn't saving anythng in buying.
A whole £10 off PS5 Pro? I might bite now 😉
It's time to buy ps5 i guess
I scored already lots of stuff (Germany).
Star Ocean 2nd Story
Top Spin
Red Dead Redemption
each under 20 €
FF VII Rebirth 34,99€
Alan Wake 2 Deluxe 39.99€
Last Faith 16€
All physical ofc. I need to reach an age of 300+ otherwise I will not make it through all the games I own.
On top of that, Sony provided some Disc Drives on PS Direct a few days ago, was sold out within minutes, however, this time I got lucky and scored one.
I hope for some great digital deals on friday. Come on Sony, get a grip and strip me of some coin.
Last of Us Part 1 needs to be $35
Page needs updating. Thegamecollection has there sale up and there’s some good ones.
@get2sammyb - hope you see this - you are into your tennis, is top spin worth it at £20? Does it run/play well?
Just saw Final Fantasy Xvi between £15 and £17.
I have never played any Final Fantasy before; I will give it a try with this one.
Might be time to get myself a gaming headset
@silverspeed It's a passable action game, but a dreadful FF game.
@MrPeanutbutterz
What is your recommendation then? And why? I thought £15 is a good deal to try. If I don't like it, I will pass it on to a friend.
I wonder what people think who never played any FF before either.
The only FF experience that I have is an animated movie back in my childhood.😀
When I click on the link for Alan Wake 2, it takes me to a page with a listing price of $76.99.
@silverspeed If you can tolerate the potato-spec graphics, the original FF7 is regarded as one of the best RPGs (and videogames in general) of all time for good reason.
Which is also why I don't think 16 is a fair indicator of the series - it's not much of an RPG. It's not a bad game as such and you may love it, it's just not what the series has been about for most of its history.
For £15 it is a no-brainer to try out though, hope you have fun with it.
40% off PSVR2, I had to take it.
Now, I really don't know when or what I'll play* on it but... I guess now I have the options. lloll
*probably losing myself in No Man's Sky, I have fond memories of my younger self looking at artworks of sci-fi landscapes and this game in VR now seems like this could be it.
Also, Beat Sabers and that Kayak game...
For any who don't know, if you live in the UK, you can get a PS5 pro console for just £380 this black Friday on the EE trade in program.
With discounted PSN credit on top of the sale discounts (never mentioned by those sooo eager to rush in on these articles and post physical prices, despite that being totally irrelevant to those of us who are all digital!), some of these prices are decent.
I was tempted by F1 24 with 60% off but want to wait now for next season with Lewis in red!
So far just purchased Metaphor. 😀👍
@silverspeed it's a very good game with a few flaws, definitely worth more than £15 in terms of what you can get out of it, so a good deal. If you like all action and boss fights, you're sorted 😁 enjoy!
I was expecting the ps5 discounts to be bigger
@Tr3mm0r If you have not and still can I got Redfall a few weeks ago and it's pretty fun, shame it didn't release like this
There’s better deals to be had elsewhere.
Just reads like a sponsor for Amazon.
1TB WD SSD w/heat sink is $89 on Amazon rn. Didn't think I saw that on the list.
Finally caved and resubscribed.
The yearly premium sub with a 30% discount, with cloud streaming on the Portal is a total game changer for me, and finally adds a reasonable value for the sub.
I bought a PSVR 2 today now that it is finally reasonably priced. I had a lot of fun with GT7, Tetris Effect and Beat Saber. Now, the screendoor effect is quite obvious, but in general a great VR headset.
I'm so gutted I bought my PSVR2 at full price when it came out.
@KoopaTheGamer got the Mrs to get me one for Xmas at that price, is the screendoor effect bad?
If you want to add a NVMe drive to your PS5 I can seriously recommend the Crucial T500 2TB with heatsink it's around £140-150 on Amazon.
@Deljo Actually, I'm not 100% sure if it's technically screen door effect or Mura. Either way, it's noticeable in some scenes and not noticeable in others. While playing the intro cinematic of Resident Evil 4, it was extremely obvious, but when actually playing I didn't really notice it much. So it's definitely usable, and you get used to it.
But I'd say this is just a limitation of VR in general and not a problem exclusive to PSVR. I've experienced it before on my Meta Quest 2. While 4K image has a lot of pixels, it's not that much when it fills your whole view. And in the case of SDE/Mura, those inconsistencies will be right in front of your eye and appear larger than on a regular TV. But again, use it for a while and you'll likely get used to it.
Sn850x 2tb is $140 on ebay with heatsink and free shipping
These deals prove once and for all that disc drives are a must. PS Store prices are a joke
The disc sales are better than digital for the most part.
Are those random TVs on offer, or ones PushSquare would recommend?
I finally got Diablo 4 with expansion at almost half the price. The game is finally worth playing more than a year after launch and 1 expansion.
This is the problem of many AAA games nowadays...
Figured it would be helpful to note that Amazon UK's £399 deal for the PS5 disc console has a delivery date of January 3rd 2025.
There's a very good deal on at ShopTo, well it's fulfilled by someone called Arcade Alliance at £289.99.
I bought one earlier from the same place at 299.99 which I found a little strange. Slim discless.
edit received an email from ShopTo so it's a legit price
Very PS5 Gran Turismo for £34.99
Also brought Samsung 990 PRO Heatsink 2TB SSD
That my christmas presents covered this year.
One of the best years imo in a very long for disc game sales for $20-$25 and $35-$50 ranges. I could easily make it until 2026 on just the pickups for PS5.
@UntilRespawn mostly always are. I'd love for digital to be cheaper/exactly same as disc but well PS Support sucks anyways and their return on digital is non-existent.
For those on the fence about VR2, that's a pretty solid price. It's an amazing experience that you just can't capture in videos.
The library is limited right now, but there are some straight up bangers too. GT7 and Resident Evil in VR is a whole different game. Pistol Whip, Beat Sabre, and Synth Riders are safe, solid standbys that double as decent cardio. Walking Dead: Saints and Sinners 2 is amazing. Horizon VR demonstrates the tech phenomenally well. Pavlov is an online shooter with hyper realistic team based multiplayer which is also next level.
This is the best time to get into VR.
@knowles2
Get yourself a VR2 as an early birthday present. If only so you can play GT7 in VR, which feels like a whole different game.
@MichaelNau
You certainly won't be disappointed. No Man's Sky is a solid choice. Some other recommendations:
Horizon: Call of the Mountain (Honestly, this comes off as sort of a tech demo for the VR2, but it's a damn good tech demo and has decent gameplay and a solidly lengthy campaign. It's a solid one to start with because it utilizes the eye tracking and head vibration functions in clever ways.
Beat Sabre (Super addictive / immersive rhythm game, falls into the easy to pick up, tough to master category. Best rhythm game since Guitar Hero for my money.)
Pistol Whip (A more stylized, if slightly more shallow rhythm experience where you shoot guns at enemies to the rhythm of the music).
Gran Turismo 7 (Base game is of course solid, I consider VR to change the experience so significantly it should be considered a different game. It's a sim racer of course, so your mileage may vary with this one - pun intended).
Thumper (The devs call this a 'rhythm violence' game, and I think that sums it up well. Good for VR beginners as it's not as bad motion sickness wise. My personal favorite VR game of all time.)
The games below are great but I'd approach with caution if you are new to VR as you might develop motion sickness:
Pavlov (Online competitive team based shooter than priorities realism. You haven't played a FPS until you've had to manually pull back the charging handle between each mag reload. This shines in multiplayer so avoid if you prefer single player).
Walking Dead: Saints and Sinners 2 (Ultimate "immersive" action game. Really, really fun. First game is also available - I'd probably start there.)
Resident Evil 8 Village / RE 4
Remake (The pinnacle of VR horror, which is one category that VR excels in.)
Honorable Mentions: Moss, Moss 2, Synth Riders, Red Matter 2, Tetris Effect, Synapse.
@UnlimitedSevens unfortunately no money left. Maybe next year.
Great deals on consoles Sony well done.
You got no competition in UK or Europe as XBOX series x disc and discless have done zero discounts this BF.
Microsoft slowly continues the death by a thousand cuts.
@knowles2
Perfect, next year there will be a bigger library and probably more frequent discounts on the games.
All of those tvs are junk, with the exception of the Hisense U8N.
@UnlimitedSevens Thanks for the game list.
Beat Saber, and potentially Thumper or Synth thingie, were on my list.
I'm the kind of gamer who doesn't care much for FPS though, or sport sim so no Fifa/CoD for me, even though I admit Pistol Whip's DA looked nice.
I got Call of the Mountain in my bundle.
I was wondering though, have you tried DEMEO or RED MATTER ? DEMEO is kind high on my list and RED MATTER sounded interesting...
Happy WE ^^
@UnlimitedSevens i picked up a VR in the sale. I had one at launch but as the line up looked bleak i sold it on rather fast to get as much money back. Fast forward a couple of years when there's alot more out for it and its on discount and ive got RE4, GT7, NMS, Drums rock, Air guitar, Moss and Ragnarok. Disappointed in the VR games sales but at some piont i plan to grab beat sabre and i like the look of Ultrawings 2. Shame Astro and Super hot were never ported to VR2 tho.
Picked up Dragon Age: The Veilguard for £35. Looking forward to it.
Knock £5 off those DS5 prices above if you shop at Currys.
@Savage_Joe Yes, but it wasn't listed in the article so I didn't mention it. I decided to wait for 2025 Hisense or TCL. Some significant upgrades in the upcoming models.
