Crash Bandicoot 4: It's About Time: All Bosses and How to Beat Them
Here's how to defeat every boss in Crash Bandicoot 4 on PS5 and PS4.
Stage Dive — N. Gin
After the cutscene, you'll be at the end of a narrow conveyor belt. Stay where you are — some fast-moving baddies will be launched at you. Spin them all back to destroy the giant speaker in the background. After this, you'll have a limited time to hop up and attack N. Gin.
Next, you'll be back on a wider conveyor belt and will have to dodge some drum beats that come towards you. Jump over the green ones and duck under the red ones. Enemies will be launched at you — spin them back to destroy the speakers once again. You'll need to use the Lani-Loli mask to reach N. Gin and hit him again.
Back to a wider still conveyor belt. As before, you need to dodge the green and red beats and spin attack the enemies that come at you. Then, use Lani-Loli to get up to N. Gin and hit him a third time.
Finally, you'll have to dodge the beats once again, only this time using a series of small platforms. Enemies will appear on platforms ahead of you — reach them and spin them to destroy the speakers. Then, use Lani-Loli to reach N. Gin and attack him for the last time. Job done.
Jetboard Jetty — Louise
A surprise boss battle at the very end of the level, Louise is a big sea monster that will attack you with tentacles. You're on the jetboard so you can't attack directly. Instead, you have to lure the enemies that slowly chase you into the tentacles, which damages Louise.
You'll also want to keep an eye out for where Louise's attacks will land. She slams down the tentacles, but the area affected is highlighted, and there are a couple of seconds warning before she attacks. Keep riding around, guiding the enemies into the tentacles, and you'll beat the boss in no time.
Trouble Brewing — N. Brio
N. Brio will begin by throwing pink potions at you. When they land on the ground, you'll need to jump over the circle that spreads out. Eventually he will throw a green potion, which will turn into a blob monster. Spin attack it to send it back to N. Brio and damage him.
The next part is much the same, only he'll throw down two green potions. Spin both enemies back to N. Brio.
After this, he smashes the two potions together and the graphics go insane. You'll need to dodge even more pink potions, and then three green monsters will spawn. Spin them all back to N. Brio.
Next, he drinks the potions and turns into a Hulk-like beast. Dodge his attacks and you'll get the Akano mask. When N. Brio is dizzy, use the Dark Matter Spin to push him off the edge of the arena. Repeat this two more times to claim victory.
4th Time's a Charm — Neo Cortex
You begin this boss fight with the Kupuna-Wa mask (slow motion). Cortex starts things off with green missiles coming down into the arena. Dodge these, using the slow motion if you need to. After a few seconds, a spinning robot will appear. Wait for it to get dizzy, then spin it into Cortex to deal damage.
Next, some electricity pylons will appear at the front of the arena. They will shoot projectiles towards you, similar to the N. Gin boss fight. Simply dodge these, again using slow-mo if needs be. Another robot will appear — as before, wait for it to stop spinning, then send it flying back to Cortex.
The next phase combines the missiles and the electric projectiles, making it pretty tricky. Use the slow motion ability to avoid all the obstacles. Once again, spin the robot back at Cortex to deal another point of damage.
After that, the arena will shrink twice, and you'll need to dodge more of Cortex's missiles. The arena floor will come back, but then Cortex will eliminate some of it again, and you'll have to dodge missiles and electric projectiles once again. Red attacks will come towards you that you'll need to duck or slide under. The robot will appear again, and you just need to spin it one more time to beat Cortex.
A Hole In Space — Doctors N. Tropy
This boss fight takes a moment to get started properly. You'll start off on a grind rail, collecting bumpa berries. Once this sequence is done, you'll be on the outer edge of a ton of platforms. Using Akano's Dark Matter Spin, get across the slowly moving platforms, dodging the laser fire from N. Tropy. You'll then find Kupuna-Wa, the time mask. Use slow motion to move across the fast moving platforms until you reach the station in the middle.
Next, you'll equip Ika-Ika, the gravity mask. You need to spin the base of the red lasers — some will be on the floor, others the ceiling. Once you destroy all these, N. Tropy will chase you back the other way. You need to spin the red lasers again as you make your way back. Get them all to deal some damage at last.
Then, you need to repeat the above as the other N. Tropy chases you back to the left. Destroy all the red lasers once more, and the battle's over.
The Past Unmasked — Neo Cortex
The fight begins with you on a metal platform made up like a grid. The first couple of rows will fall away, and a gun will appear in the middle. Dodge the circular energy blasts and jump on top of the weapon three times to destroy it. This will get rid of some more of the floor. Two more of these weapons will appear in the corners. Jump on them both three times each to get rid of them. More of the floor will go, so be careful. Next, an enemy will spawn in the bottom right — dodge his rockets and spin him into Cortex to deal a point of damage.
Next, Cortex harnesses the power of Lani-Loli, the mask that phases things in and out. The arena grows for this phase. The mask sends a wave of platforms that no longer exist at you, and you have to jump over it to avoid falling down. This repeats from the left, from behind, and from the right. Next, two of the weapons from earlier will appear on either side. You need to jump on them three times as before while also dodging the missing floor segments. Then, the rocket launcher enemy appears again — spin him to damage Cortex again.
Cortex will then come towards you and fire three lasers as he goes from left to right, and then back again. Jump over the red lasers, and duck under the blue ones. He'll flip gravity next, and will continue to fire the red and blue lasers. Eventually, two of the guns appear on either side, get rid of them once again, and then hit the enemy back to Cortex.
The next section, you'll have to outrun falling platforms, and time will slow down intermittently. Destroy the guns as before, and again, hit the resulting enemy back at Cortex — just watch your footing and this is an easy section.
Next, four of the weapons spawn in the arena, and Cortex will send rotating lasers at you too. Destroy the weapons by jumping on them three times (each one removes some floor). Finally, four of the rocket enemies will spawn. Send them all back at Cortex to take him out for good.
