How do you start New Game+ in Dead Rising 1? What carries over in New Game+ in Dead Rising 1? Since the game is so replayable, you'll want to be carrying over your Frank character across multiple playthroughs in order to unlock new skills and make his stats better. In this Dead Rising 1 guide, we're going to reveal how to start New Game+ and what carries over in New Game+. This guide covers both the original game and the new Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster.
How Do You Start New Game+ in Dead Rising 1?
New Game+ in Dead Rising 1 is pretty unique to how it's handled in any other game, because you don't actually need to complete it in order to start New Game+. Instead, if you simply select New Game from the main menu at any time, you'll have the option of carrying over the stats and levels you earned during a previous playthrough. You can do this from a playthrough that was just an hour long, or towards the end of the game — and anywhere in between.
This is because of the time-sensitive structure of the game. It's possible to fail the main story but still hold out the 72 hours and roll credits. Sort of like a roguelite before the genre really became a thing, you're encouraged to make multiple attempts at playing through the game. Every time, you can carry over a Frank West with better stats.
What Carries Over in New Game+ in Dead Rising 1?
The overall level of Frank, and the bonuses and abilities that come with them are the main things to carry over into New Game+. Every time you level up in the game, you'll either obtain a stat boost or unlock a new skill. These can include extra item slots, more health, and more attack power. As long as you accept the prompt on the main menu when you go to start New Game+, your Frank will start the playthrough a lot more powerful than usual.
