How to Beat the Old Hero in Demon's Souls

Despite his domineering disposition, the Old Hero is actually one of the easiest bosses you'll come across in Demon's Souls. His weakness is illustrated by the wraps over his eyes and his animations as he lumbers about – he can't see. If you can exploit his lack of vision, you'll be on the fast track to finishing this fight.

Equip the Thief's Ring

If you happened to pick up the Thief's Ring in the first Boletarian Palace stage, this fight will be even easier. Equipping it will render the Old Hero clueless to your movements. Saunter in to take a few chunks out of his health bar, retreat for his retaliation, and repeat. It's as simple as that.

Sneak in Slowly

If you don't have the Thief's Ring, there's no need to fret. The Old Hero will still be completely clueless if you walk up behind him. Just be sure to get back out of harm's way after attacking him as he'll likely swing straight at your previous location. Repeat the process as many times as necessary, and there will be nothing but the Storm King standing in your way.
