Jori, Elder Inquisitor: Boss Fight Strategy
First off, you'll likely be very low on Flasks of Crimson Tears when you first encounter this boss, so take solace in the fact there's a Stake of Marika right outside the fog door; you don't have to make your way through the entire Darklight Catacombs all over again.
This encounter may feel a little refreshing, if anything, as rather than blocking a lot of hits, you'll be instead dodging magical attacks from a spell caster named Jori, Elder Inquisitor. At the start of the fight, it'll shoot off multiple rounds of Light at you that you'll need to dodge. It can also call in attacks at your feet where you stand, which must be rolled out of the way of. Also, it can summon in projections of itself — both of the same size and much bigger — to fight alongside it. These can all be destroyed with a single hit, but they can become a bother if you don't deal with them.
On your end, try and have a Medium Load or better so you can easily dodge the attacks, and close the space between you and the boss so you can start attacking yourself. A Mimic Tear Ashes will be useful here so the boss has a distraction — and so too do the projections spawned in — allowing you to focus on the main target. As long as you're appropriately levelled, this encounter shouldn't give you much trouble.
