Tombsward Cave Location: How to Find It
Tombsward Cave is just a stone’s throw southeast of the Fourth Church of Marika, near the field where the Wandering Mausoleum roams. The cave’s opening is carved right into a shallow cliffside and is lit by a fire sconce, making it hard to miss.
Tombsward Cave: Walkthrough
Before trying to tackle the Tombsward Cave, it’d be best to have a couple Neutralizing Boluses on hand as this place is packed full of poison hazards. The cave’s first passage is deceptively safe – it’s a simple hallway with some Cave Moss. Continue onward, however, and you’ll emerge to the far more intimidating poison pools.
While wading through the poisoned waters, try your best not to roll. If you happen to do so, you’ll become covered in the stuff and won’t be able to get it off unless you rest at a Site of Grace or happen to have some Soap on hand. Thankfully, the mushroom enemies’ attacks aren’t too difficult to avoid, meaning dodge rolling should rarely be necessary, and they’ll often drop Toxic Mushrooms you can pick up. Deal with the first two baddies and grab the glowing Golden Rune [2] from the corpse and pick the pink Poisonbloom across from it.
Find yourself some solid ground for a bit to allow the poison buildup to wear off before advancing. Once you’re in a more comfortable spot, move forward and take out a couple more enemies before recuperating on some solid ground again. Grab some more Poisonblooms, but mind the furthest edges of this area because a few poison blobs will drop down from the ceiling when you approach. Head toward the opening in the southwest to snag a Furlcalling Finger Remedy, and backtrack to an opening on the north end of this chamber.
Drop down here, and sprint towards the east end to encounter a couple of regular rats and a giant rat guarding some Immunizing White Cured Meat on a small alcove. Send the three rats packing, then backtrack into the poison pool, but take the westward passage this time. There’s another giant rat here, but sprint past it and back onto solid ground next to some more Poisonbloom flowers to keep the poison buildup at bay.
Deal with the giant rat, and continue further up this passageway to find a few more poison flower enemies guarding an Arteria Leaf. After grabbing the leaf, you’re clear to drop off this ledge and onto the ground below. This next chamber consists mostly of solid ground with a couple of poison flower enemies and three more mushroom foes sitting in a small poison pool in the corner guarding some Poisonbone Darts. Take them all out before following the path southward and to the cave’s mist gate which houses Miranda the Blighted Bloom.
