Side Quest |
August wants Clive to find out what's been troubling Blackthorne. While the surly blacksmith isn't usually a big talker, August thinks he might open up to Clive. |
Blacksmith's Blues: Walkthrough
Blacksmith's Blues begins when you speak to August. He'll tell you that Blackthorne, the blacksmith, seems off, and wants your help to see what's bothering him.
Head over to Blackthorne, in his usual spot, and speak to him. Once the chat's done, you'll next need to speak with Charon, who's nearby at her shop. Afterwards, your next stop is the hunt board.
Follow the marker to it and speak to Nektar, then select 'Ask about griffin sightings'. Take a look at the listing for the griffin, which is located at Caer Norvent West Gate.
Fast travel to Lostwing, then head through Cutter's Gate, southeast, towards Caer Norvent River Gate. There, you'll need to defeat Dozmare the griffin.
Dozmare Spoils:
- 1x Scarletite
- 1x Meteorite
- 650 EXP
- 55 Ability Points
- 8,500 gil
- 20 Renown
With the griffin down, watch the cutscene, then approach the man in the bushes and speak to him. Once that's done, fast travel back to The Hideaway, then speak to Blackthorne to conclude the quest.
