Hide, Hideaway: Walkthrough
Hide, Hideaway begins after fast travelling to The Hideaway for the first time. You're free to wander around this hub area, but you won't be able to do an awful lot yet. Head to Cid's chambers, highlighted with a red marker. Open the door and watch the cutscene.
Afterwards, head out and down into the main hall. A brief cutscene instructs you to pay a visit to the blacksmith, so go and do that. You'll have to give him the Continental Rum that Goetz gave you before he'll cooperate. This begins a tutorial about crafting and upgrading your equipment.
Return to Goetz and speak to him to start a cutscene. Afterwards, approach the group that's just arrived. After speaking to the man, he'll ask you to fetch Tarja, the healer. Follow the marker to the infirmary and speak to Tarja.
After the cutscene, your next task is to speak with Charon, just ahead. You can buy and sell equipment and consumables at her shop. When you're done, close the menu. Charon will point you to some supplies across the way — collect them. This unlocks the Arete Stone, a training area.
Once you're done with the Arete Stone, watch the next cutscene. After this, fast travel to The Greatwood, which will now appear on the overworld map. This concludes the quest.
