Final Fantasy 16: The Last King Walkthrough

The Last King is a Main Quest in Final Fantasy 16, following on from Footfalls in Ash. As part of our Final Fantasy 16 guide, we're going to explain everything you need to know about The Last King.

The Last King: Walkthrough

The Last King begins immediately after you fast travel to Reverie at the end of the last quest.

This linear mission has you ascending the Reverie tower. Proceed forward and fight a group of Fallen baddies. Go through the door.

Ascend the elevator, then fight the bombs. Go through another door. Fight the next lot of Fallen and continue through the next door.

Ride another elevator up and fight the Fallen on the walkway. Up ahead is a Purple Bavarois to fight. Once it's down, go through the next door.

Continue through another door, and ride the next elevator up. Yet more Fallen enemies await, followed by yet another door to open. Ahead, defeat all the enemies that descend into the room. Open the next door.

Another elevator ride! At the top is a brief cutscene, then you're in a mini-boss fight against Soultaker.

Soultaker Spoils:

• 25x Wyrrite
• 25x Magicked Ash
• 5x Meteorite
• 400 EXP
• 80 Ability Points
• 3,000 gil

After the fight, climb the ledge and follow the path up. At the top, proceed along the bridge, beating any enemies on the way. Ahead on the left, open the door.

Ascend the elevator, then watch the cutscene. It's time for a boss fight against Control Node. Once the fight's over, it leads directly into another fight against Aurum Giant.

Control Node & Aurum Giant Spoils:

• 2x Fallen Iron
• 75x Wyrrite
• 3,000 EXP
• 80 Ability Points
• 3,000 gil

Once that's done, watch the cutscene. Ascend the spiral slope, and open the door at the top. Watch the cutscene.

Another boss fight, and it's a biggie — defeat Barnabas.

Barnabas Spoils:

• 1x Dark Shard
• 8,000 EXP
• 600 Ability Points
• 7,000 gil

With the fight done, watch the cutscene, which ends the quest.

Objective Log

• Defeat the echoes
• Ascend the tower
• Slay Barnabas
