Looking for how to play Ghost of Tsushima and Ghost of Tsushima: Director's Cut Legends co-op? Ghost of Tsushima: Legends is part of the game's free 1.1 update, which was made available to download on the 16th October 2020. In Legends, you can fight alongside up to three other players in a wave-based horde mode, or you can team up with a single ally and tackle story-based missions together. As part of our Ghost of Tsushima guide, we'll show you how to play Legends co-op.

How Do You Play Ghost of Tsushima Legends Co-Op?

Here's a quick guide on how to actually access Ghost of Tsushima: Legends.

Please note: You need an internet connection and a PlayStation Plus subscription to play Ghost of Tsushima with other players.

Update Ghost of Tsushima to Patch 1.1

Before we begin, make sure that you have Ghost of Tsushima updated to version 1.1. If you don't have the patch, your PS4 should warn you that an update is available when you try to boot up the game.

The update is around 10GB in size.

Download Ghost of Tsushima: Legends from the PS Store

Once you have update 1.1 installed, head over to the PlayStation Store. Either search for 'Ghost of Tsushima Legends', or find the Ghost of Tsushima game page and view 'add ons'.

You should find the Ghost of Tsushima: Legends page. Legends is entirely free for Ghost of Tsushima players, so all you have to do is hit 'download' and it should install straight away. Easy!

Access Ghost of Tsushima: Legends

When you have update 1.1 and Legends installed, all that's left is to jump into the action.

There are four ways that you can access Ghost of Tsushima: Legends:

  • Select 'Ghost of Tsushima: Legends' from the game's main menu
  • Select 'Ghost of Tsushima: Legends' from the in-game pause menu
  • Find a new character named 'Gyozen the Storyteller' (see image below). He'll be present in numerous towns and other locations across the map in the game's normal, single player mode. Simply talk to him while you're playing, and you'll be able to hop right into Ghost of Tsushima: Legends
  • Accept a Ghost of Tsushima: Legends invite from another player

Follow any of these four steps and you'll be brought to the Ghost of Tsushima: Legends lobby, where you can create your own session, join a game, or invite other players.
