You unlock the Steel Handles at the beginning of the game, during Surviving Fimbulwinter. The official description reads: "The original steel handles of the Blades of Chaos. Familiar and reliable."

Deadly Obsidian Handles

You unlock the Deadly Obsidian Handles by finding Legendary Chest #1 in Svartalfheim during The Quest for Tyr. The official description reads: "Handles that feed the chaos that resides in the Blades themselves. Felling a foe feeds the Spartan Rage within."

• Slayer's Rage Burst: Low Luck chance to grant a Rage Burst on any Blades kill.

• Whiplash Deflection: While charging Flame Whiplash, incoming projectile attacks will be deflected.

• Blade Dancer: The Spinning Chaos and Evasive Embers evade attack skills do increased damage and burn to enemies.

• Seized Strength: Stun Grabbing an enemy (R3) grants a gift of Strength.

You unlock the Hardened War Handles by finding Legendary Chest #11 in Alfheim after completing The Reckoning. The official description reads: "Handles forged in fire so hot that once cooled, they can never be melted again."

• Banishing Blade: The Hyperion Grapple and Hyperion Pull skills (L2 + R1) do extra damage and Stun.

• Whiplash Refresh: Flame Whiplash hits (Triangle > R1) have a Moderate Luck chance to grant a Blessing of Cooldown, restoring more Cooldown if fully charged.
