God of War Ragnarok: Path of Destruction Walkthrough

To begin Path of Destruction, first ensure you've finished Return of the River. Travel to the Mystic Gateway named The Jungle — you'll discover this during Trail of the Dead — and interact with the Celestial Altar to ensure it's day time. Sail to the east, and dock at the pier where you fought the Ogres in Trail of the Dead. If you didn't already, pull down the wall with your Blades of Chaos in this area, exactly opposite the dock, and swing across the gap. You'll find the Stag of Summer, from A Stag for All Seasons, directly ahead. Follow the path around until you spy a giant footprint, and squeeze through the wall to the right of it. This will begin the quest.

Drop down the well, and look behind you. There's a contraption that you can turn by throwing your Leviathan Axe at it. You need to quickly spin it, then freeze the cog directly below. This will allow you to exit the area. Open the Legendary Chest directly ahead for a Jewel of Yggdrasil.

Head out through the gate, and lure the Gulons back onto the platform you just escaped from. Cage it by recalling your axe, and then use the metal chain to lift the platform up. The creature will be consumed, drawing out your target.

Drop down to the platform with the poisonous plant, and freeze it with your Leviathan Axe if you need to. Then climb up the gold chain and retrace your steps back to the area where the large footprints were earlier. If the gold chain isn't there, you can simply sail back to the dock mentioned at the start of this walkthrough, and retrace your steps. You need to get back to the area with the well you dropped down. Squeeze through the wall and prepare yourself for battle.

Boss Fight: How to Beat Slag Horn

Despite being such a large foe, the Slag Horn shouldn't present too many challenges, it's just able to absorb quite a lot of damage given its scaled, armoured exterior. You'll want to watch out for when it whips you with its tail; this can be parried. It'll also shoot scales out at you like a machine gun, so defend against these. The best tactic in this fight is to throw your Draupnir Spear at the two small glowing points on its front legs. These will turn red once your spears are in the right place. Hit the Triangle button to detonate them, forcing the Slag Horn to fall unconscious. You can then hit him with your best attacks to take a serious chunk off his life bar. Once defeated, be sure to collect the Dragon Teeth and Dragon Claws he drops, as well as the Enchantment named Regenerating Essence. This will complete the quest.
