All GTA 5 Strangers and Freaks Missions and Gold Medals Checklist

There are 20 Strangers and Freaks missions in the game. While some must be completed to progress the main story, most of these missions are optional. However, they do count towards 100% completion. What Are Gold Medals in GTA 5?

Gold Medals are a series of hidden challenges you need to complete in each mission, and depending on how many you finish, you can earn a bronze, silver, or gold rating. Generally, the challenges relate to completing missions with high shot accuracy, finishing them as quickly as possible, or completing a specific task.

You can view Gold Medal challenges from the pause menu, by scrolling across to Game and then the Replay Mission option. This screen will tell you the Gold Medal challenges you've already completed and the ones left you have to do. This menu will only appear once you've completed a mission, so you can't see the Gold Medal challenges during your first playthrough of the mission.

You can earn up to 3 Gold Medals in each mission, and completing more of them improves your rating. They don't count towards 100% completion; they are merely an optional extra, but you do need to get 70 Gold Medals to unlock a Trophy.

Can You Replay Missions to Get Gold Medals in GTA 5?

Yes, you can still unlock Gold Medals when replaying missions. In fact, you can replay missions multiple times over and aim to complete a Gold Medal requirement on different runs. For example, you could replay a mission once to earn the high accuracy Gold Medal, and then replay it again to complete the speedrun requirement. They're all saved to your overall profile so you don't need to worry about losing a Gold Medal as you try and unlock another.
