Horizon Forbidden West: What Are Metal Flowers?

Metal Flowers in Horizon Forbidden West are an obstacle at certain spots throughout the game. They will restrict access to specific areas until you discover how to deal with them. Once you learn how to get past them, you will be able to uncover what they are hiding.

Horizon Forbidden West: How Do You Get Past Metal Flowers?

You will almost certainly come across Metal Flowers before you are able to clear them. When you do, their locations will be marked on your map as a Blocked Path. You will not discover how to get past Metal Flowers until you have completed the Main Quest, Seeds of the Past.

After this, Aloy will have the capability to open Metal Flowers and clear the vines growing from them. To get past Metal Flowers, you simply need to hit them a few times with melee attacks, and press R1 once more to clear the vines.
