Marvel's Spider-Man 2: It Chose You

It Chose You is the 22nd Mission in the Main Story of Marvel's Spider-Man 2, and sees Peter go after The Lizard after it escaped in New Threads. This Mission is exclusive to Peter. As part of our Marvel's Spider-Man 2 guide, we're going to reveal everything you need to know about It Chose You.

Walkthrough

Despite the best efforts of Peter and Miles, they weren't able to prevent Lizard from escaping at the end of New Threads. As such, Peter decides to take matters into his own hands and hunts down Lizard to Upper West Side. Swing to the objective marker to start the Mission in the sewers.

Take a left once you're in the sewers, then Pull the water pipe to put the fire below out. Crawl through the hole and zip down into an abandoned subway line, which will explode. To continue through the tunnel, Zip to Wall on the right-hand side of the train. There's then only one way through the sewer until you come to the Oscorp lab. Drop down and use your Scan to highlight interactive objects, like the specimen, sample, the two whiteboards, research papers, and finally the work station in the back.

The facility will power down, and then Lizard strikes Peter, forcing you into a boss battle with it. As the first tutorial teaches you, the only way to avoid crush attacks is by dodging them — look out for the blue alert around Lizard's head. The thing you need to nail for this fight is Parrying. Otherwise, you're in for a rough time. The timing window is fairly generous, so whenever Lizard's head flashes red, press L1 to Parry and leave the boss open for a flurry of attacks. Also, incorporate your Skills into combos, and activate a Symbiote Surge if you have one charged.

Upon depleting its health bar in the first phase, Lizard will fully recharge for a second go. The only difference here is the boss will occasionally climb onto the walls and hurl rocks at you. When it does, shoot it with Web and then get in close and press Triangle. In order to stun the boss, Pull on the vents on the ground when it's standing over them. After beating it twice, Lizard will leave the arena, charge through the museum, and out onto the streets where you'll need to give chase.

When you get close enough, a Triangle button prompt will appear on Lizard, allowing you to get in close and force the fight into an office building. The chase will then resume outside; you're looking for another Triangle button prompt as you get close to Lizard. Pressing it at the right time sees the Hunters join the pursuit. After a cutscene in which Peter tries to inject Lizard with the antidote, he'll be holding onto a rope attached to Lizard as it scales a building. Avoid the falling debris to reach the top.

When you do, Kraven will show up and shoot Lizard with explosive arrows, which causes it to fall back to the ground. With Peter giving chase, you'll end up underground with Lizard and start another boss fight encounter. Luckily, this is just a single phase so use the same strategies you used the first time around and you'll eventually defeat Lizard. The Mission then ends in a cutscene.
