Description
Amphibians that use their long tongues to seize and devour prey such as Bulaqchi. Their evolved forelimbs store a sticky mucus-like substance. When agitated, Chatacabra rub their forelimbs against the ground to collect stone and ore, widening the range and destructiveness of their blows.

Here are a few pointers on how to defeat a Chatacabra in Monster Hunter Wilds.

  • Chatacabra's large tongue is its weak point; fortunately, it uses it regularly, meaning you can hit it pretty often after its attacks or when it grows tired.
  • Chatacabra will often have rocks stuck to its forelegs as part of its attacks. These limbs are breakable, and doing so will disable certain attacks and possibly net you some additional rewards.
  • Bearing the above two points in mind, you want to focus your offence on the Chatacabra's front, but watch out for its tongue attacks — either dodge out of the way or block, if your weapon allows.
