If you wish to play Path of Exile 2 in early access during this launch weekend, the chances of you at some point hitting a server queue are very high — especially if you are trying to log in on opening night. In this Path of Exile 2 guide, we shall explain the server queue and login issue to try and work out how long will the Path of Exile 2 server queue take.

Path of Exile 2 Server Queue and Login Issue Explained

Path of Exile 2: Server Queue and Login Issue Explained - How Long Will the Server Queue Take? Guide

Even in its early access state, Path of Exile 2 is proving to be a very popular game. Hundreds of thousands of enthusiast players are all trying to play at the same time, and the online servers can only accommodate for so many of them. To try and keep the title online for those already playing and stop the servers from crumbling, a server queue has been set up.

If you're hitting a server queue, you will need to wait until you reach the end of the queue before you can play. You can simply leave your PC or console on the server queue screen and let it count down until it's your turn to play. The screen will display your position in the queue, but be warned: it could be several hours before you get your chance.

The latest from Grinding Gear Games is as follows:

The developer Grinding Gear Games has stress-tested its Path of Exile 2 servers at up to 1.6 million players, and has confirmed that early access has already been bought more than 1 million times. Server queues were always expected, which meant some players were joining the queue as early as this morning, and there were still several thousands of players ahead of them.

Unfortunately, there's simply no way of avoiding the server queue; you have to join it and wait your turn if you want to play right now. Your turn will come so stick with it!

How Long Will the Path of Exile 2 Server Queue Take?

How long you spend in the Path of Exile 2 server queue will mostly depend on when you joined it: the earlier you join it, the faster you'll get to play the game. This goes for PC as well as PS5 and Xbox Series X|S.

You're relying on people already in the game to either stop playing or get disconnected, at which point those at the front of the queue will be granted access. This chain will repeat over and over again until you get to the front. You can track your position in the server queue with the number on screen. If your position is in the low thousands, you may be in the game within 30 minutes. If you're looking at 10,000+ then, it could be an hour-long wait or more.

There's no definitive way to say how long the Path of Exile 2 server queue will take, but it's best to simply leave your PC or console in the queue and do something else, regularly checking in for updates. The sooner you join the server queue the better!
