Stray is a narrative adventure in which you play as a cute little cat. It was initially released on PS5, PS4 and PC, but later came to Xbox platforms as well as Nintendo Switch. Developed by BlueTwelve Studio and published by Annapurna Interactive, this is a linear game in which you explore a futuristic dystopia inhabited by robots, using feline agility to get around and solve puzzles. We really enjoyed the experience, awarding the game an 8/10 in our Stray PS5 review.
In this Stray guide, we will be exploring everything the game has to offer. This includes a full walkthrough, as well as information on where to find all collectibles, how to unlock all Trophies and get the Platinum, and some frequently asked questions. Stray Guide: Tips and Tricks for Beginners
In this part of our Stray guide, we have some quick tips and tricks for getting started with the game.
Jumps Are Calculated
You can't just jump around willy-nilly in Stray. If you want to jump somewhere, you'll first need to approach the edge, wait for the X button prompt to appear above your desired landing spot, and then jump. If no prompt appears, you won't be able to make that jump, so find another route. It doesn't take long to get used to, and actually feels pretty intuitive once you've done it a few times. It also makes you feel like an elegant little cat.
Press Triangle to Interact
Throughout the game, there are lots of opportunities to engage in little catty interactions with robots and objects. For example, there are many spots which you can scratch up, curl up and go to sleep, and occasionally you might find a cat toy to bat around. These serve little purpose, but they're cute, fun distractions that reaffirm your feline status.
Check Out the Inventory
When you press Up on the D-pad, you will open your droid's inventory. Here, you can see any items you're holding, as well as any B-12 Memories. It's worth having a look around, because you can inspect objects to see them in a 3D view, but most importantly, any Memories in the area will show you a glitchy clue as to their whereabouts. Useful!
You Can Replay Chapters If You Miss Something
Stray is broken up into chapters, and they all roll straight into one another. You might be kicking yourself if you've missed a collectible or a Trophy, but don't worry. From the main menu, select Start Game, select your save and then Select Chapter. From here, you can go back to any previously completed chapters and play them again. Doing so doesn't reset your collectible progress, so you can use this function to go back and tidy up.
That's a wrap on our Stray guide. Have you been enjoying this futuristic feline adventure? Let us know in the comments section below, and be sure to share any other tips and tricks.
