Need a Science Building walkthrough for The Last of Us 1, including all collectibles? In this The Last of Us 1 guide, we're going to show you how to achieve 100% completion in Science Building, which is part of The University chapter.

There are 4x Artefacts, 1x Firefly Pendant, 1x Training Manual, 1x Workbench, 1x Shiv Door, and 1x Optional Conversation to find in Science Building, as Joel and Ellie search for evidence of the Fireflies' whereabouts.

The Last of Us 1: Science Building Walkthrough

With the university, and Go Big Horns, complete it's time to deal with the Science Building. First off loot all the supplies, and then enter the room on the left.

Workbench #1

There's a Workbench to the right of the doorway. Interact with this to upgrade your weapons. If you need any Weapon Parts, you can find some in the locker opposite.

Shiv Door #1

Follow the main corridor as far as you can go, and you'll happen upon a blue Shiv Door, marked as Room 205 Lecture Room. Unlock it and loot the supplies on the other side.

Training Manual #1: Molotov Deployment

Immediately on the other side of the Shiv Door, to the right, you'll find a Training Manual named Molotov Deployment on the corner of the table.

Workbench Tools #1: Wrench

Again, in the Shiv Door room, opposite where you found the Training Manual, you'll find a red toolbox with a Workbench Tool named the Wrench inside. This gives you Tools Level 4. Make sure to also grab the Supplements and Weapon Parts in this area before you leave.

Optional Conversation #1

Once you've got all the supplies, head out onto the balcony and follow it around to a hallway with lifts and a stair case. You'll happen upon a clipboard, which actually triggers an Optional Conversation opportunity when interacted with.

Artefact #1: Office Recorder

Head up the stairs after the clipboard Optional Conversation and through the blue doors. Go immediately left into Room 301 Biology Lab and collect the Artefact named Office Recorder from the table surface. Feel free to loot the entire upstairs area for Supplements, Weapon Parts, and supplies before moving on.

Artefact #2: Fungal X-Rays

On the second floor of the Science Building, continue through the tent-like doorway at the end of the corridor. In the next room, on the far counter next to the windows, you'll find an Artefact named Fungal X-Rays.

Artefact #3: Lab Recorder

Open the door opposite where you found the Artefact named Fungal X-Rays, and head into the room with the monkeys. There's another Artefact named Lab Recorder on the table next to the white board.

Firefly Pendant #1: Hickman's Firefly Pendant

Just beyond where you found the Artefact named Lab Recorder, in the back-right corner of the room, you'll find a Firefly Pendant named Hickman's Firefly Pendant on the bottom of the shelving unit.

Artefact #4: Firefly's Recorder

Loot the area where the monkeys were, and then barge your way through the door with the broken glass. Joel will pick up an Artefact named Firefly's Recorder as part of the cutscene. You can't miss this one as it's required to progress the story.

Well, you finally know where to find the Fireflies, but you're under attack. It's time to get out of the Science Building, and unfortunately you're going to have to fight your way to the exit. Remember to stay low, use cover, and pick off the bandits when they peek out. If you're not sure which way to go, then follow the flares down the stairs. You'll eventually come to a closed door, but be prepared when you open it, because you're going to get into a scuffle. Tap the square button to fight back.

You're not in good shape! During the cutscene you'll need to take out two bandits, then follow Ellie out of the Science Building as best as you can. When the bandit finds you, wait for Ellie to flank him, then get a headshot. Keep moving until you blackout and reach the exit. Next up, is The Hunt.
