A large source of controversy among gamers of late has been Sony's decision to mandate PSN accounts in select PC ports. This caused such a large outcry that the platform holder was forced to revise its policies. But do you need a PSN account to play The Last of Us 2 on the PC? In this The Last of Us 2 guide, we're going to answer that question.
Do You Need a PSN Account to Play The Last of Us 2 on PC?

No, you don't need a PSN account to play The Last of Us 2 on the PC.
However, Sony is hoping to encourage PC players to create an account by offering some bonus cosmetic rewards and additional functionality.
Those of you who link a PSN account to your PC game will unlock the following rewards:
- 50 in-game currency points to unlock bonus content
- An additional skin for Ellie inspired by Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet
If you login with your PSN account, you'll also be able to take advantage of the PlayStation overlay on PC, which will enable you to unlock Trophies and view your friends list.
Again, none of this is required to play through the game on PC, so it's totally up to you whether you take advantage of it.
