Zenless Zone Zero: How to Get Free Pulls

Looking for how to get free pulls in Zenless Zone Zero, also known as ZZZ? Pulls, sometimes referred to as draws, are the system with which you're able to unlock characters in gacha games. In HoYoverse's urban fantasy RPG, the mechanism is known as Signal Searches, which you can learn more about through the link. On this page, as part of our Zenless Zone Zero guide, we're going to explain how to get free pulls, including the 180 promised by HoYoverse at launch.

What Are Free Pulls in Zenless Zone Zero?

• Free pulls are Polychrome, Encrypted Master Tapes, or Master Tapes that can be earned without spending money through gameplay

Free pulls, or draws, refer to the Signal Searches you can run in Zenless Zone Zero free of charge, without needing to spend any real-life money. Typically, you'll be performing free pulls using Polychrome, Encrypted Master Tapes, and Master Tapes, which you will earn as gameplay rewards.

HoYoverse has promised that, in v1.0 at launch, you can earn 180 free pulls in ZZZ, and while some of these opportunities will naturally expire over time, there are still a lot of ways to earn free Polychrome, Encrypted Master Tapes, and Master Tapes in the game.

It should be noted that Boopons are also classed as a gacha currency in the game, although they can't be purchased with Monochrome Film, and therefore can only be earned as a free resource through gameplay anyway.

How Do You Get Free Pulls in Zenless Zone Zero?

There are dozens of ways you can get free pulls in Zenless Zone Zero, including the following:

• Completing login events
• Levelling up characters
• Completing quests
• Redeeming active codes
• Completing the daily check-in
• Levelling up the New Eridu City Fund
• Checking your in-game inbox
• Increasing your Inter-Knot Level
• Completing daily errands

Login Events

While login events tend to be time-limited, meaning it's difficult for us to say definitively which options will be available to you when you play, you can usually earn up to Encrypted Master Tapes per update cycle by logging in to the game on at least seven days.

Level Up Characters

You'll earn Master Tapes when you reach specific levelling milestones with your Agents. This can make it valuable to level up all characters you unlock, although do keep in mind that resources are limited, so it's best to spend your Investigator Logs on characters you intend to use first.

Complete Quests

Perhaps the simplest and most obvious way to earn free pulls is to simply play the game. You can earn a lot of Polychrome purely by completing Commissions and progressing the story.

Redeem All Active Codes

HoYoverse will regularly release free redemption codes which can be entered into the game in return for rewards, including Polychrome. These often have expiry dates, so act quickly if you intend to use them. You can find a full list of All Codes and How to Use Them through the link.

Complete the Daily Check-In

The daily check-in is a recurring login event which is part of the HoYoLAB social network. While you won't earn Polychrome every day, you can earn a small denomination of the crucial currency for free over the course of each month. Level Up the New Eridu City Fund

The New Eridu City Fund is effectively ZZZ's answer to Fortnite's Battle Pass. While you will need to pay for the premium tier to unlock all of the rewards, some Master Tapes can be unlocked for free through gameplay. You can find out How to Level Up New Eridu City Fund through the link.

Check Your In-Game Inbox

HoYoverse will frequently provide all players with free rewards in their in-game inboxes, and often these will include Polychrome and other valuable items. While many of these tend to have an expiry date, it's always worth seeing what's in your inbox because you may just find some precious pulls.

Increase Your Inter-Knot Level

The Inter-Knot Level in ZZZ is effectively your account's overall level, so it's separate from your Agents and W-Engines. As you increase your level, you'll earn various rewards, including Polychrome and Master Tapes. For more information, refer to How to Increase Inter-Knot Level.

Complete Daily Errands

Every day, in your Compendium, you'll be given a list of tasks to complete. You'll need to fulfil at least four of these to max out your daily errands, and in return you'll earn Polychrome alongside other rewards which will contribute towards your free pulls.
