Zenless Zone Zero: How to Pass Time

Looking for how to pass time in Zenless Zone Zero, also known as ZZZ? HoYoverse's newest gacha game has a schedule system, similar to releases like Persona. This means that certain quests can only be discovered or completed at specific times of the day. On this page, as part of our Zenless Zone Zero guide, we're going to explain how to pass time.

How Does Time Work in Zenless Zone Zero?

Time is divided into the following four scheduled periods in Zenless Zone Zero:

• Morning
• Afternoon
• Evening
• Midnight

While most content can be completed at any time of the day, certain activities are only available at a specific time. Therefore, you'll need to keep a close eye on your schedule by pressing Triangle > Schedule.

How Do You Pass Time in Zenless Zone Zero?

• Completing activities progresses time

The best and most obvious way to pass time in Zenless Zone Zero is to simply engage with its various activities. In almost all cases, you'll be able to complete one activity per scheduled period. For example, completing a Commission on the Hollow Deep Dive System will progress time.

Here are some of the ways you can pass time:

• Complete a Commission on the Hollow Deep Dive System
• Complete a VR Mission at the Hollow Investigation Association

Remember, there are four scheduled periods per day, so you could theoretically complete four quests in a row before you'll need to rest.

What Happens At Midnight in Zenless Zone Zero?

• At midnight you'll need to rest

Midnight is the final time period in your schedule, and the only time when you're able to rest. Sleeping on either the Random Play sofa or in your bedroom will progress time to the next, starting the cycle afresh. You can't choose to sleep at any other time.

It is possible to complete more Commissions and VR Missions at midnight if you want to, although in some instances you'll be forced to sleep immediately afterwards.

Can You Skip Time in Zenless Zone Zero?

• You can't skip time

Unlike in Genshin Impact, where you can manually fast-forward time, there's no way to skip time in Zenless Zone Zero. The only way to transition between different time periods is to engage with different activities, as outlined above.

How Do You Tell the Time in Zenless Zone Zero?

There are two main ways to tell the time in Zenless Zone Zero:

• Check the icon in the top-left corner of the screen during gameplay
• Refer to your Inter-Knot Schedule

During gameplay, the top-left corner of the screen will show an icon that relates to the time of day. The icons are as follows:

• Cloud Sun is Morning
• Sun is Afternoon
• Moon is Evening
• Cloud Moon is Midnight

Alternatively, you can press Triangle > Schedule to find your Schedule. The current time of day will be denoted by an icon.
